Chapter 48

"What happened? Why is your skin like this?" He asked.

I blinked.

I turned over and wrapped my arms around his waist and put my head on his lap.

He ran his fingers through my hair gently.

"Ming talk to me. What happened?" He spoke up after a few minutes of silence.

"P' please don't hate me...." I muttered softly.

I could feel tears forming in my eyes.

"Hate you? Why would i hate you? What's going on?" He frowned.

I slowly pushed myself to sit up facing him.

He was looking at me waiting.

I bit my lips and looked down.

"Ming look at me." He cupped my cheeks and made ne look at him. "Tell me. What's going on? When i came home, Luna and Lea were so anxious and then i find you in this state. Please tell me what happened."

Before i could say anything, my phone rang.

We both turned to the nightstand where it was.

It was Leo.

I gulped.

He took it when he saw my expression.

He didn't give it to me and picked it up putting it on speaker.

"Hey Ming. I already downloaded all the footage to my computer and compiled them. Should i email it to you?" He spoke up.

P'pha frowned deeply and looked at me.

I bit my lips and looked away.

"What footage?" He asked Leo.

"Um who are you?" Leo asked back hesitantly.

"I'm his boyfriend. What footage are you talking about?" P'pha.

"Ask Ming. I'm sorry but i promised him not to tell anyone. If you want to know you'll have to ask him. Bye." He hung up.

P'pha was looking at me sternly.

"Mingkwan. What was he talking about?" He held my chin and made me look at him.

I gulped the lump in my throat. I could feel my eyes brimming with tears.

"I...."

He waited quietly for me to continue.

But i didn't say anything.

The lump in my throat made it impossible for me to talk.

I couldn't bring myself to tell him.

"Mingkwan. We're not moving from here until you tell me what footage he was talking about." He said sternly.

I shook my head vigorously.

He frowned deeply.

"Do i need to look into it myself or are you going to tell me now?" He asked after a few seconds of dead silence.

I bit my lips and kept my gaze on the bed.

He took my phone and dialed a number.

"Hello Leo.... I need you to tell me everything in that footage.... He won't tell me himself... Listen here... I can tell something really bad has happened. The state he is in, i don't like it. And i need to know what's going on so i can help him......" He frowned deeply. ".... You told him multiple times to talk to us about it?.... What exactly did you guys film?...."

I gulped.

I could see the colours slowly draining from his face and the shock registering in his eyes.

He looked at me wide eyed.

I gripped the sheets tightly in my fists.

He hung up after a few minutes.

"HAVE YOU LOST YOUR MIND?!?!" He gripped my arns tightly.

I clenched my eyes shut.

"YOU WALKED INTO THOSE BASTARD'S ARMS JUST LIKE THAT?! DO YOU EVEN REALISE HOW WRONG THINGS COULD HAVE GONE IN THAT ROOM TODAY?!?" He yelled.

I didn't say anything.

"MINGKWAN!! WHY DID YOU PUT YOURSELF IN DANGER LIKE THAT?! WHY DIDN'T YOU COME TO ME OR GO TO ANYONE OF OUR FRIENDS OR FAMILY MEMBERS?!" He gripped my chin and made me look at him.

"You think i wanted to do that?! You have no idea how disgusted i feel in my own body right now!! I relived those days again in that room in that one hour!! And i tried to think of other ways to make them confess everything but you think they would?! They are smarter than that!!" I yelled.

"You could have come to me or anyone else!! They would be behind bars by now even!!" He frowned.

"They are CEOs and people who own huge companies!! They would have gotten out in no time!! Mere testimonies won't keep them guilty and behind bars for more than a few days!! They'll just use their power and money to escape!! Just like how Dan and Ava Daichapanya are now roaming free without a care in the world!!" I slapped his hands away.

He was taken aback.

Tears started streaming down my face.

"I don't give a shit about Dan and Ava Daichapanya anymore!! But i can't let these bastards just roam free!! They ruined not only my life but so many other's as well!! That kind of shit haunts us for life!! No matter how much therapy we go to!! No matter how much we try to move on!! It will never go away!! And they will keep doing it over and over again until something is done!! And a few days behind bars will do nothing!!"

There was complete silence after that.

I couldn't stop the sobs that escaped my lips.

"You will never understand..... How it's like..... Knowing that the ones who did that to you are still roaming free.... And you can't do anything about it... Because they have more money and power than you..."

He pulled me into his arms and hugged me tightly.

I clutched onto his shirt tightly and cried at the top of my lungs.

He pressed his lips on my temple and tightened his arms around me. I could feel my shoulder getting wet from his tears.

I kept crying for i don't know how long.

He didn't let go of me and kept hugging me tightly until i calmed down.

I slumped into his arms after i managed to calm down.

I was still hiccuping.

He pulled me close and kissed my forehead.

I buried myself in his arms and held his shirt in my fists.

My throat was sore from screaming so much and my eyes were really swollen making it hard for me to see.

"Ming." He called me softly.

I slowly looked up at him.

He had tears in his eyes and i could see the trails on his cheeks as well.

"I kove you so much...." He hugged me tightly.

I couldn't really talk right now so i just rubbed my cheek against his chest.

"Please don't put yourself in danger like that again.... Talk to me atleast.... Let me help you.... If something happens to you... I won't be able to forgive myself Ming..." He muttered.

I held his hand and squeezed it gently.

I love you too p'.... More than anything....
