"If we failed to conquer Earth under Megatron's command, what hope do we have now that the Autobots still defend it?"

That made (Y/n)'s smile falter a little bit. Conquer Earth? No, that couldn't be right, they wanted to restore Cybertron, right? Is that what Soundwave told her?

Starscream sighed. "Allow me to be crystal clear. I studied for millennia under our former master. Thus, I am equipped to lead you. I, Megatron's true heir, Lord Starscream, Emperor of Destruction!"

The Vehicons made no noise, and (Y/n) let out a small whistle. "I wonder how long you rehearsed that in the mirror."

Starscream groaned and motioned to Soundwave, making him cut off the audio/visual. "What use are troops who cannot rise to the task, to cause unspeakable destruction in my name?" he spat.

"Maybe it's because they don't want  to serve you." (Y/n) kept her arms firmly crossed.

"What happened to you this morning?" Starscream quirked a large metal brow plate at her.

      "Nothing." She looked away.

Starscream hummed, then began to think once more, mumbling to himself. "One capable warrior...who resides here...very planet..."

"Can you make out anything he's saying?" (Y/n) whispered.

      Never.

      "Yeah, me too Noodle."

~*~*~*

"So this is what he meant." (Y/n) muttered, all three of them at the same canyon Megatron had brought her to, just in a different spot.

"During the Great War, so much energon was hidden on this forsaken rock, that our departed master sent some of Cybertron's greatest to guard it. True warriors, now lying in stasis, waiting to be reawakened." Starscream huffed, then continued. "Such folly, that, late in life, Megatron searched distant space for warriors, rather than here beneath his pedes."

Soundwave began to click. It sounded like a naval radar, but (Y/n) knew what it meant. He was saying he couldn't find one of their signals.

"What do you mean you can't pinpoint his signal?! I know  we are close! Boost the power to your sensors!"

After a moment, Soundwave clicked again. Here, he said. Starscream grinned and transformed, Soundwave following, making (Y/n) fall into Soundwave's cockpit. Groaning and holding her head, she knew she was never gonna get used to that.

~*~*~*

Starscream and Soundwave had managed to pull a large stasis pod out of a rock wall, (Y/n) watching.

"Excellent, Soundwave. The cube." Starscream held his servo out for Soundwave.

Soundwave handed him an energon cube, which slid into the cube shaped hole with ease. Starscream said something about it working, but (Y/n) was focused on something else. What did that Vehicon mean by conquering Earth? That's not what the Decepticons were about - at least, as far as she knew. Maybe he just phrased his sentence wrong? (Y/n) didn't know, but she wanted to know.

(Y/n) wanted to encourage the Vehicons more and more, some of them were almost silent. They didn't have to be friends with the officers, just be able to speak their minds. Looking up (because Soundwave had picked her up), (Y/n) saw a massive green-and-yellow mech with red optics. She only barely registered the name Skyquake before tuning out again. Starscream grew more and more power-hungry with each day, and he spent a lot of time in the control room.

If this kept up, Starscream was going to do something stupid. There's just something about him being leader that didn't sit right with (Y/n), even before she met Megatron. With Megatron, him being the leader seemed to click.

Megatron... she thought, right before the memory of the spacebridge exploding, Megatron right in front of it. Why did her chest hurt so much at the thought of him dead? Why did it matter to (Y/n)? Before he came, it was just her, Soundwave, and Starscream. At least, on the ship. Maybe it's the combined loss of Jack and June. (Y/n) reminded herself.

She hadn't been back to the house or school since the day Jack found out, and she couldn't see herself returning ever. Apparently, her mind didn't want to focus on that. It found Megatron once more, replaying the memory of the spacebridge exploding over and over. Her heart hurt worse than it ever had before - (Y/n) had no idea what it could even mean. Soundwave transformed, snapping (Y/n) back to reality, then transformed, landing on one of the cliffs.

(Y/n) glanced up at Soundwave. Maybe I should talk to Soundwave about it. Yeah, that seemed like a good idea.
