It's the headache that hits me first with the dull beating against my skull bringing me from the oblivion of my mind, already plagued with a sense of worry. Then it is the bleak memory of a fist connecting with my head, after watching Elena collapse. There is a glimpse of a car trunk and the voices of foreign accents.

I groan, my hand finding its way to my pounding forehead, begging for the beating to settle. I pry my eyes open, wincing at the bright light blinding me. It's a movement that really brings me to my sense. My eyes snap around the room, looking for the blur my eyes barely caught on their own.

The room is dull, decorated with dust and cobwebs. The floors are broken and the windows boarded from prying eyes. I can see the air filled with the dirt collection around. It contains an eery silence, one that seems too fierce to break.

"What do you want?" Elena's voice comes in a whisper.

"Shhh."

"Please I'm hurt!" Her voice comes again. I prop myself up on my arm, finally noticing a man leaning over Elena, both perched at the other end of a very old couch.

"I know." He smirks his voice heavy with an accent. "Just a taste." He leans forward, his face displaying the raised veins underneath his eyes. Vampire. He bares his teeth, fangs, as Elena struggles away from him.

"Hey!" I catch his attention fast, his eyes whipping towards me, the veins still swimming under his eyes. "Get away from her!"

"Trevor!" A female voice calls, this voice is foreign too. "Control yourself." She glares down at him before shifting her gaze to Elena and me.

"Buzz Kill." He mutters, stalking past the woman, throwing one last hungry glance back at Elena.

Keeping a watchful eye on the woman, I slide closer to Elena, helping her sit up. Her clothes are still stained with blood from the party last night. She nods her head at me, silently telling me she is ok. Her gaze turns to the female vampire, still watching over us with an unrelenting glare. "What do want with me? With us?"

"My God, you look just like her." She mutters, amazement graces her features, as her eyes memorize Elena. Katherine. I withhold an eye-roll, Not again.

"But I'm not. Please, whatever you want -"

"Be quiet!"

Elena moves to stand, I pull her back but she is relentless. "Look she's not Katherine-"

Elean stands against my insistence. Trying to ger her to stay far away from the vampires has always been a problem, harder now more often than ever. Living with vampires has always been difficult, but there are the good ones, and there are the unpredictable ones. The ones unknown are the hardest to gauge. I bolt up next to her.

"My name is Elena Gilbert. You don't have to do this." Elena pleads, moving towards the vampire.

The woman's gaze darkens. "I know who you are. I said be quiet!"

Grabbing Elena's arm, tugging her back, I stand in front of her. A natural reflex as of recent date. The supernatural world is a dangerous one, especially now for Elena. Something I wish she never had to endure. But also not something she shouldn't be hidden from any longer. She was lucky. She might have been born into the supernatural world, but she didn't know about it, she didn't have to live it until recently. The supernatural world has been in my blood since birth.

"What do you want?" I glare at the woman.

Before I can react, her hand comes at vamp speed to my face, sending me tumbling backward into Elena. I cup my hand to my cheek, I can feel the heat radiating from my skin. I gasp, my knees hitting the floor at the force. "I want you to be quiet." She repeats, her tone filled with arrogance and sass.
