The teacher told us we could grab all the kids' stuff and go ahead and leave. Our pumpkins were dry now so I put them in the plastic bag I was given and helped Landyn get his backpack.

We walked out to my car, Landyn holding my hand with the one that didn't have ahold of the bag with our pumpkins.

I helped Landyn into his carseat then got in the driver's seat,

"Calum?" I heard Landyn say, making me look back at him, "Can we get ice cream?" he giggled,

"We can get ice cream" I laughed and handed him a pair of extra sunglasses I had, knowing he'd ask for them too.

We got to the ice cream shop where I sent a text to Maddie, letting her know I had her son and where we were.

I lifted Landyn so he could pick what he wanted, immediately going for cookie dough. I got him his kids cup and we sat outside on a bench while he ate it.

I was thinking about Landyn at school. It was still odd to me how his teacher had him isolated and the way she yelled at the kids was odd to me. I wonder if Maddie knows what's going on? Maybe this is why Landyn doesn't want to go anymore?

"Hey Landyn, do you sit by yourself a lot at school?" I questioned, but not trying to overstep the parent line because that's Maddie and I don't want her to think I'm going over her,

"I have to," he told me like I should've known,

"Why?" I asked,

"Because I'm not allowed to be with the others" he shrugged. I was now confused and I knew I had to say something to Maddie.

We went back to Maddie's apartment where she and Duke were. We were staying here for a few days. I felt bad that she hadn't even been home since I got back. Plus I'm sure Landyn wants to sleep in his own bed.

"Mommy! Look at mine and Calum's pumpkins!" Landyn screeched as we walked inside,

"Oh my goodness! Those are so cool" she grinned as Landyn handed her each pumpkin one by one,

"Dis ones my favorite" Landyn grabbed our vampire one,

"Yeah? Why don't you go put it in your room" Maddie told him. He nodded and grabbed his school stuff and went to his room. Maddie smiled then walked over to me, her hands going up behind my neck and mine when to her waist,

"Thank you for going" she kissed my lips,

"Of course. I told you he'd have a dad" I reassured her. She smiled and pecked my lips again before I pulled back,

"What's up?" She quirked an eyebrow,

"Landyn's school. I don't want to overstep but there was something that was kinda odd" I told her,

"You're not overstepping" she assured, "What do you mean by odd?"

I looked towards Landyn's room then back at Maddie and pulled her to sit down,

"When I got there, we waited in the hall until the teacher let us in. I was looking in the little window and Landyn was completely by himself. He was at a table alone while all the other kids were sat with each other. Then his teacher screamed at these kids. I know you have to discipline kids but it was a little over the top. Landyn literally looked like he was going to shit his pants" I explained.

Maddie's eyes were furrowed,

"Then we got ice cream and I asked him why he was sitting alone. I wasn't trying to overstep. I was just concerned" I told her,

"Calum, you don't have to worry about overstepping" she smiled, "What did Landyn say when you asked?"

"He told me he wasn't allowed near the other kids" I sighed.

Maddie's whole demeanor changed,

"Did he seem okay?" She questioned,

"I guess. He wouldn't talk to any other kids when we got sat with one for pumpkins" I shrugged.

Maddie leaned into my arms and rested her cheek against my chest,

"It may be nothing" I dismissed. Maybe I was overreacting,

"No. It's something. He shouldn't be told he's not allowed near the other kids. Either he's acting up or it's something else" Maddie sighed.

{ Maddie }

I stood in the shower, washing my hair but also thinking about what Calum told me. Is something happening at school? Is that why Landyn fights me every morning now?

I got out and dried off, throwing on a pair of shorts and a hoodie I had stolen from Calum. I entered my room and saw Calum laying in my bed on his phone,

"Did Landyn go to bed?" I asked, standing while I braided my hair,

"Yeah. He told me he wanted to. He also asked for you to go tell him goodnight" Calum sat up a little. I nodded and walked over to Landyn's room.

I walked over to Landyn's bed- he was already asleep. I sighed and kissed his head, pulling his covers up over him.

I closed his door behind me and went back to my room, climbing into bed and laying on top of Calum. Calum put his phone down and wrapped his arms around me and pulled the comforter over us,

"You okay?" Calum kissed my head and ran his fingers up and down my back,

"Thinking about Landyn" I moved to where my head was in the crook of his neck,

"He's going to be okay. Just talk to him" Calum encouraged,

"I just got the anger and the fear out of him. I don't want to go back to where he's always angry and always screaming and fighting me on everything" a tear fell from my eye,

"If it happens, I will help you. You're not alone. And you know Mike and Crystal will help too" Calum kept placing kisses on my head. I nodded and rolled off my boyfriend and onto my side.

Calum's arm went over my side and he pulled my back to his chest and kissed the back of my neck,

"Try and sleep. I know you're worried tho so keep me awake or wake me up if you can't sleep"

"Thanks Cal" I grinned,

"Anytime" he kissed my neck again, "Goodnight Mads"

"Goodnight Cal. Love you"

"Love you too baby"
