"I want to know the twins!" I blurted out

"You what!?" She said

"I want to know them." I said trying to not raise my voice.

"And when did you come to this revelation!?" She said

"Um at your wedding."

"And why now why not before they were born!"

"Because I don't know I want to know them because they seem cool and fun!" I said

" 'cool and fun' that's all you have to say so if they were boring and normal you wouldn't want to know them!"

"Meredith that's not what I mean you know that!" I said

"No Derek I don't know! They think Mark is their father what are we supposed to say!"

"Well he's not their father! I am!" I said

"No you are not you are a sperm donor! You weren't there when they were teething, when they were sick, when they learned to start swimming, or when they got hurt!" Meredith yelled

"Those are my kids! With my blood!" I said

"That may be true but you choose a woman over them!" She said

"I choose someone who I knew would give me happiness!"

"No you choose someone who wanted the same things as you! You choose a future over your own blood!" She said

"Like you haven't done the same thing!" I said

"You have no right to bring up my blood relations! I had a troubled childhood I did not deny who's blood I had I just didn't want to have a relationship with them!" She said

"I am not denying my kids!" I yelled

"You DENIED them before they were even born!" She said

"Mark has no right to carry my title!" I said

"Oh your 'title' came with a responsibility that you denied and abandoned! He choose to pick it up and right now he's doing a better job than you will ever have!" She yelled

"I can fight for custody." I said

"You can fight but you won't win! There were multiple witnesses and even more people who now what you did the day I found out I was pregnant!" She said

"I give up with you but I won't give up on knowing them! This conversation isn't over!" I said storming out.

Mark's POV:

I saw Derek and Meredith all into a conference room. The window blinds were opened so everyone could see them yelling. A few minutes later Derek stormed out and Meredith came out to everyone.

"What was that?" I asked

"Tyler can you take the twins for a moment?" Meredith asked the nurse

"So what happened?" Callie asked

"Derek wants to get to know the kids as in a relationship because they are 'cool and fun'" Meredith said

"That asshole!" Callie said

"So I asked him why now that was his answer then I said Mark was their father then he started yelling Mark isn't and that isn't his title with them and I told him that Mark was there for them when he wasn't... then he threatened a custody battle. A warm welcome indeed!" Meredith said

"But he has no right because he said he didn't want them?" Richard said

"I know I told him that but then we both yelled and fought over what happened. I told him he choose a future over his blood. Then he brought up Ellis and Thatcher which pissed me off and then he got so mad that he stormed out!" Meredith said
