You Can't Hide, But You Can Run

Chapter Three: Run

As morning slowly came, the sun beamed into Emily's room- causing her to wake up.  Once Emily was awake and got dressed, she went downstairs to start her first choir- making breakfast.   As Emily cooked, her mother came downstairs- you can tell Mary had stayed up all night. Her eyes were dark red from crying and her hair was in tangles. Emily soon served her mother breakfast, Emily went on to do the rest of her choirs and her mother's.  Once night soon fell, Emily helped her mother to bed- making sure her mother was in a deep sleep..Emily got dressed. She grabbed a coat, some warm shoes and a scarf before praying to god to keep her family safe.  Emily kissed her mother goodbye before hurrying out of the house.
  Night raged on, the moon shined down, birds sang their evening song as wolves howled hello to the moon. Emily walked through the forest, she never once looked back..Emily was determined to find her sister and get her back. As Emily walked, all she could think about was her sister..she was too lost in thought to hear another pair of footsteps behind her..Night kept on, the moon slowly moving in the hours of the night and when Emily had a feeling she was being followed, she looked behind herself but saw..nothing. No one, not even a single animal was there..it felt odd to her that no animal was following her but she slowly shaked off the feeling and kept moving.
   Getting deeper and deeper into the woods, Emily was sure that someone or..something was following her and her suspicions were correct when she heard leaves crunching behind her after she stopped moving...Emily stood still for a moment, her heart was beating fast and her breath was getting harder to control. She was scared to look behind her but sure instincts told her otherwise..Emily slowly turned around, what she saw was no human..she saw a creature that standed well over 7ft, it had a deer head, the creature's body was thin and frail, it arms being longer than its legs, and you could see the creature's organs and bones in its stomach region...Emily was to shock and scared to make a move but when the creature took a step towards Emily..she ran.
  She ran and ran, Emily could hear the monster chasing after her through the trees and forested areas.  But Emily never stopped to catch her breath, as her legs kept moving-she saw a cave opening and ran to it.  Once she was inside and away from the creature, Emily took a moment to catch her breath and she soon decided to venture into the cave..but what she saw was horrifying.
