i sit down next to ale and kairi sits in front of me

it was awkwardly quiet.

i pick at my salad angry

"so um you coming home tonight?" ale asks

"depends is that crackhead, deadbeat sad excuse of a mother gonna be there when i get home?" i ask in a jolly voice

"we gotta find a place for her to stay at y/n" ale tells me

"then no" i say dropping my fake smile

"look i was gonna tell you but i didn't know how" kairi says "you weren't home when she knocked on the door and i couldn't get a hold of you so i waited til the next day and obviously it didn't go well"

"as long as she's under that roof i'm not going home" i say ignoring everything he just said

"y/n" kairi says

i sigh

"i believe you" i say "we're good"

he smiles

"nice cause i was gonna embarrass you at your game tonight" he says

ale laughs

"he was gonna go to your game wearing your jersey number in a cheerleader suit" ale tells me

"aw fuck i should've waited til after that" i say

he throws a fry at me

i eat it lol

"as attractive as mattia is do not let him distract you this game y/n" kairi tells me

"he never distracted me once" i say "so that's no problem"

"you ran into the first base girl while you were running because mattia was taking his shirt off" ale speaks up

i stumble across my words and lick my lips

"i- but if you- i didn't-" i say, trying to come up with a lie

"i-i-i" ale says mocking me "if mattia plays dirty like that you play back"

"how am i gonna play back" i say

"our soccer game on friday" kairi says "do something sexy or cute that'll draw his attention the whole game"

i nod

"that sounds easy" i say "but i'm only doing that if he plays like that tonight"

"totally fine with us" ale says

mattia's pov

"distract her" v tells me

"what no i did that last game and she ran into one of the players" i say

"i love y/n and all but if we lose to them again it'll be hell" she says

"sometimes you just gotta take that other L" i say "i'm not doing it v"

she crosses her arms

"do it, don't do it. just know they'll be consequences if you don't"

"what're you gonna do" i ask not believing her

"2 words" she tells me "y/n y/l/n"

"damn it v" i say "fuck you and your dirty way of playing"

she smiles

y/n's pov

"y/n you're on third base" coach yells

i nod

"that's close to mattia. don't let him get in your head" ale says

i nod

"got it"

i run to third base which is next to the dug out mattia is in with v

we start to practice for a bit

all we did was throw the ball to each other

"you look hot in your jersey" i hear mattia say behind me

i keep my back turned on him

"yea it's hot out here" i say not trying to get distracted

"you're not gonna look at me?" he asks

i can hear his smile through his voice

i look at him for a quick sec

"i have a game to practice for" i say

and turning right back

"good luck" he says

"i don't need it" i smile .

first batter is v

the pitcher pitches the ball and she hits it outfield

the girl quickly throws it to the pitcher and v stops at second base

we exchange smirks

her teammate hits the ball up in the air

coming my way. as i get ready to catch it i hear a girl squeal

i lose focus on the ball and turn my head to the noise and see it's a girl squealing over mattia cause his shirt is off

he makes eye contact with me and smirks

"oh you dirty fuck" i say realizing with he's doing

i pick up the ball quickly and tag v with it before she could touch it

i smile

"i see the game your friend is playing" i say "you can tell him get ready on friday cause i'm playing back"

she walks away laughing

finally we're batting

i get into the dug out

"that was not keeping your head in the game" ale says laughing

"i wasn't distracted by him, i was distracted by the noise" i say "and who tf takes their shirt off at a softball game"

"mattia duh" kairi says

"oh no really" i say sarcastic

skip to after the game , it's a tie

"nice play y/l/n" v says

i smile

"good game" i say "be ready friday"

she laughs

"don't worry" she says

"hey good game" mattia says coming up

i push him lightly

"shut up" i say "you knew what you were doing"

"you got a free show. normally girls would be asking for my number right now" he says

"i already have it" i say "what was your point"

"you have his number already?" v asks "and you didn't ask?"

i nod

"interesting"

"anyways i'll see you guys friday" i say "you better be there and make sure to be safe driving here okay?"

"you're cute when you care for me" he says pushing my hair behind my ears

i blush at his touch

"i'm gonna throw up now" v says

i giggle
