"how was your date last night" kairi asks me

"it wasn't a date dork" i say

"was there sex involved?" he asks

i give him a look

"no" i say

"so it was a date?"

"fuck off" i say walking away

"hey how was your date?" ale asks me while he's walking past me

"hey, suck my dick" i say patting him on his shoulder

mattia's pov

"geez what's wrong with you? you look dead" v says

"i couldn't sleep last night" i lie

"bad dream?" she asks

i nod

"it had my dad in it" i say "and i couldn't go back to sleep"

"yea well when you get home go to sleep" she says

i nod again

"you have a game next weekend" she says "against ridgefield"

"oh i didn't know" i say

"hmm" she says "you and y/n?"

"me and y/n are just friends" i tell her

"okay just checking you know in case you start to call her a cake" she says

"not gonna happen" i say

"totally" she says and walks away "she's not like most girls you know. she's not that easy"

y/n's pov

i'm in science class.

my favorite class.

and the only thing in my mind is the kiss i had with mattia

it's not mattia who's bad

mattia: i am at school but i just wanted to text you

i smile at his text

oh god y/n abort mission! block him or something

"what you smiling at" kairi asks

i quickly put my phone away

"ah you do have a boyfriend" he says smirking "is it lucas?"

"no why would you think it's lucas?" i say

"word on the street is he's gonna ask you to homecoming" he tells me

"why me" i ask "he's star quarterback he can get anyone he wants"

he shrugs

"too bad he can't have you" he says "since you already have someone who gotten you to smile at a screen"

i take a couple chips from his bag

"he's one of my friends" i say "i think"

"why do you think he's one of your friends?"

i sigh

"um we kissed like 2 times" i say "i felt something different those 2 times"

"but...?"

"but we only knew each other for maybe 3 days" i say

"if you're happy then take that chance" kairi tells me "what's the worse that can happen"

"if i go out with him i can lose a friend" i say

"if your friend isn't happy that you're not happy are they really your friend?" he asks

"what if it's family?" i ask

"then they're not family" he says

i gulp

"who's the lucky guy anyways" he says

"definitely not lucas" i say letting out a nervous laugh

i smile

"you know you're good with relationship advice for someone who's single" i say

"so you are with someone?" he says

i laugh and throw my head back

"we've kissed 2 times" i say "i wouldn't call it a relationship, boy problems maybe"

"you haven't had a boy problem since middle school"

"yea boys are dumb" i say

"what about the boy you kissed?" he says lighting a cigarette "is he as dumb as the others?"

"kairi you dip shit stop smoking" i say slapping it out his hand "this guy i'm hanging out with, he's been through a lot, i've been through a lot"

"once you put 2 people who been through a lot it's danger" i say

"worst case scenario y/n is he treats you like how his dad treated him" kairi tells me "some kids who have a bad childhood take it out on their partner, but you're coming to me about this guy. i already know he's gonna treat you differently"

he rubs my head, messing my hair up a bit

we both laugh

"i hope you're happy" he says

i smile and hug him

"as of right now" i say "i'm very happy"
