A Year to Remember

Chapter 2 The party

Connor practically fell down the stairs when he heard a knock at the door, this time it was truly Maya. "OMG, I haven't seen u for a while!!" Exclaimed Maya "yah, hey let's put your stuff in the guest bedroom and head outside so you can see cam, gio, tanner, and ya can't forget Zander." They walked up the stairs and took a left into the guest bedroom. It had navy blue sheets, matching pillow cases, a flatscreen tv and a sweet new Alarm clock. Maya was impressed, meanwhile Connor was staring at her in admiration. Maya tossed her bag on the bed and the both of them walked down stairs to the patio.
Cam and gio both yelled at the top of their lungs "MAYAAA!!!!!!!!!"
They tackled Maya with hugs. "So, why the hugging" asked tanner "Maya, cam, and gio were best friend in grade school, then one day in 6th grade Maya moved to Hawaii, they lost all contact."
"Me and gio have gone through everything together, but there was always something missing, you" added Cameron. They all spent time catching up, after all they are now in 10th grade, they haven't seen maya for 4 long years.
Although they've only been apart for 4 years, when you that close it feels as if it was 4 decades. "Hey, it's already 3 and I think I hear the guests arriving" Zander said chiming in. "YEAH, FIREWORK TIME!!!" Yelled Zander. "No Zander not until 9:00 pm" replied gio. Zander sighed and walked to see if any one has arrived." All of the sudden the door flew open and almost 200 people stormed in, trampling Zander. "I think my butts now in my stomach" Zander chocked. Cam helped him up and giggled "let's go get you some punch"
Connor was in shock about how many people showed up and about how he didn't even know half of them. He was about to kick the people he didn't know out, when Maya ran up to him and beamed "Connor this is gonna be a great night, look at all these people. By the way, thanks for inviting me I know we haven't been on speaking terms since you came out to visit me in Hawaii." "What happened in Hawaii?" asked cam as she walked up to them. "Ok... So it was about April and Connor wanted to surprise me by coming out, well...." Maya hesitated " I was so nervous about my surf competition that I got mad and did not do any thing with him while he was there because I was stressed and surprised. I guess you can say he accidentally came at a bad time, but I finally realized he was trying to give me a nice surprise."
They all stood there in a completely awkward silence as if Connor just asked Maya to marry her or something. Finally Maya and cam walked to the kitchen and Connor strolled up to tanner and Zander "Connor great party, who are these people" laughed Zander ,"Connor got popular"laughed tanner too. "Ya bud!" Connor yelled, Connor has not got this much attention sense he was a baby, and that was adult attention, which was never good. Everyone snacked on chips and drank coke. Finally firework time came, no one knew what Zander had in mind...
