CHANCES (L.T.)

~~~FIFTY ONE~~~

I went to the bed and plopped myself. I pulled out my duffle bag from under the bed to take my i-pad out but something else fell out. It was a old diary the binding was almost gone. That is when I remembered this was my mother's diary. I brought it with me everywhere I went. I guess in the diary was all sorts of stuff that happened to her after I was born the starting entry was when I was around 4 years old. And there were things written in it till a year before she passed. This diary made me feel closer to her even though I know she is gone.  

Louis's POV. 

I came back from my interview. Again the usual questions 'how was tour?' 'when will I release new music?' 'Am I still single?' and other shit like that. 

I open the room door to see Liam and Austin sitting on the couch talking but they stop when I enter. 

Austin gets up and takes his guitar which was also lying on the couch and leaves the room. This is how things have been ever since. I dont know how to handle this anymore.

That was when I realized that Liam was still here.

"Hey mate how are you?" I ask with a sigh before sitting on the couch rubbing the tiredness out of my eyes.

"Why did you ground him?" Liam asks getting straight to the point. 

"Cause he left the room switched of his phone and didn't inform anyone that he was going" I snapped I was tired of everyone asking me the same thing. They al act like I did the wrong thing but I dont get it! I did the right the thing. I dont need parenting advice from every idiot in town. 

"Did you at least him explain?" Liam asks.

"He has nothing to explain Liam. Now can we drop this and just chill?" I ask him. 

I hear Liam sigh and says "Fine..... But you will see that you made your mistake sooner or later"

We just ended up talking about his son Bear how he just started school and stuff while we had a drink or two. Soon it was like 11 in the night and Liam had to leave because he had his flight at 7 in the morning tomorrow. 

"Bye mate" Liam says.

"Bye. Nice catching up with you! We should have a reunion you know with all the lads? I mean we have only spoken with each other alone not all together you know?" I say.

"Yes that reunion is long over do!" Liam says with a light chuckle causing me to chuckle. 

He started to walk to the door when he stopped at the door "This time you have to give him a chance. He already gave you one" and with that he was out the door. 

I knew what he was talking about. But I guess I preferred not to understand for the time being. 

I walked over to Austin's room. I slowly opened the door. The light was still switched on in his room. He seemed to be asleep but he was holding onto a diary it was so old it was almost in tatters.

I slowly take the diary out of his hand. I was just going to keep it on his bed side. But something caught my eye. The writing in the book. It wasn't Austin's hand writing. It was hers 

I opened the page that Austin was reading.

'Austin is now 6. God he adores Louis so much. He is so much like him it hurts me everyday when he comes back home upset because all the other kids make fun of him because he doesn't have a father. I know he tries his best not to show it but I know he is upset about it. I named him Austin after Louis's birth father. I hope that Austin and Louis will have a different relationship that Louis had with his birth father. He never gave him a chance but I know that he will give Austin a chance'

I tear rolled down my cheek. She was the only one who knew me. She was the only one that knew everything about me. And I left her I left her and that was the biggest mistake I ever made. She wasn't just some girl to me she was the girl for me and I ruined it all. 

My eyes fell on Austin he was fast asleep. His chest rising and falling with every breath he took. But I never missed her or at least I haven't missed her in the past 2 years because I had him. I saw more of her in him with every passing day. And now I have screwed up things with him as well. And I dont know how to fix it...
