Piper POV

Ring ring!!!!

"Class dismissed..." our tired looking history professor raked through his graying brown hair as the school bell rang.

Finally.

I grabbed my bookbag placed slumping onto the floor beside me and rushed out of the classroom, pushing through my classroom to be first-one out.

I rushed down a set of stairs all the way to the first floor. The first floor had no classrooms, it mostly had activity centres: the gym, the playing field reserved for sport clubs, the visual arts center, the library, the entrance to the school, and, of course, my favorite place:

The Jasmine Academy kitchen! As you can guess, this was my destination. Oh, about that:

"I'M HERE!" I screamed as a I flung open the door. I grinned. World record babyyyyyy.

Inside of the kitchen, the 8 duo kitchen counters, placed in a single row in the middle of the room. A projector attached to the ceiling pointed to a lone kitchen counter at the front of the class. This happened to be the only occupied kitchen counter. Occupied by who? Well, by the only and only.

Ms Castillo is a 19-year old college dropout who started a teaching profession. Her long, light brown hair look natural though dyed, and her rosy cheeks always gave her the look of being so glad and tired at the same time. Like she does on most club days, she wore a pair of light denim jeans and a gray t-shirt.

"Early again, I see?" Ms Castillo gave me a lopsided grin. I rolled my eyes jokingly, saying: "I'm always early, Ms."

I walked towards the 3rd row's left counter, my favorite and self-assigned workspace. I dropped my bag underneath and took of my hair tie. My stringy auburn hair was nearly let loose at this point. I poked around. The hair tie was tangled into the hair. I sighed. The usual then..

I fished it out and let it be worn like a bracelet on my right wrist.

The door to the school kitchen opened and a group of students walked in. I recognized them: Luke, the boy obsessed with cooking birds (don't ask), Sky, nicknamed Cloud, the dessert queen, and Rose, who makes some great cupcakes and is K-Pop obsessed. (Should I mention that Rose and Sky are both best friends and lesbian? (I SHIP teehee ( ͡° ͜ʖ ͡°)).)

"Hey guys!" I waved at them as they entered. They greeted me in return as they took their spots: Luke on the 1st row and the girls next to each other on the 2nd.

"Hello Ms Castillo!" Cloud raised her hand in greeting. Ms Castillo sent a cheerful smile back and greeted the other 2 students as they cleaned up their workspaces and dropped off their bags.

The room slowly filled in with the 12 other students until all 16 student kitchen counters were taken. Ms Castillo walked behind her counter of the gods and placed her hands onto it, leaning forward.

"I'm going to skip greetings, since we've already done so, and get straight to the point," she looked at all of us with. She then reached underneath her counter, pulling out a remote, using it to turn on the projector. She stepped towards her right as the wall behind her flashed with a presentation slide projected from a laptop on the very right of her kitchen counter.

"I have a single question. What is more important: spice or the main dish?"

This caused murmuring among the kids in the club. Answers soon followed:

"The main dish, obviously," Luke called out, hand raised. "A dish can't be a dish without a main dish."

"I agree!" Cloud said. "Some dishes can be delicious and lack spice at the same time."
