It seems like she'd been preparing for this exact day her entire life, years of training with the other children in the area only to be cast off into King Lure's army of soldiers adorning heavy gold and silver armor engraved with scratches from who knows where. Her own father was high in the rankings, especially being a human, he sat upon his chimera, half rabbit, half tiger, it was quite a pretty chimera, with it's long powerful limbs that stretched to large, clawed paws. She wondered if one day she would get one too.
"Lucala Vikaros."
It was her turn, she stepped forward, doing her best not to shake in nervousness, the general himself saying her name was worrisome, what more would he say?
"According to your documentation you are fully human, daughter to Captain of squad 47, Captain Vikaros, you have excellent speed and agility, skilled with hand-to-hand combat as well as carrying basic knowledge of swordsmanship."
The girl nodded slightly, keeping her eyes fixated on the General, who sat atop his own chimera, a monitor lizard-wasp hybrid, a chimera that would kill anything, the poison in it's mouth frothing slightly, dripping down and leaving indents on the rough stone flooring it was perched atop. Luca's eyes stayed on the General as he spoke, until she saw the woman in red stand up next to him, she had split sleeves that almost reached the floor in length, her uniform reminded Luca of what the general typically wore, with gold tasseled shoulder pads and gold threads embroidering pretty swirling shapes around the edges. Luca brought her eyes from the woman's uniform up to her face, she had ruby red irises that caught the sunlight perfectly, quite pronounced beauty marks on her left cheek, and soft, deep, violet locks tied up in a tight bun with only her side swept bangs out. Luca found her eyes simply wandering over the woman when suddenly the woman turned her head, there they were, those pointed ears that belonged to the greatest weapons their king had. Considering she didn't seem to have cybernetic additions to her physical form, Luca assumed this woman was a first generation Selevine, there were only two types, at least that were documented, a first generation doesn't imply that they're the first, there could be babies that are considered first generation, however as of late, the second generation has become the most feared. The General just so happened to be one of the second generation Selevines, with his burly, steel arms and clearly defined wires poking out from under his hat, the fact that he was paired with such a monstrous chimera didn't help with Luca's fear of him either.
Luca was brought back from her thoughts when she caught that woman in red staring at her, those eyes, they held a certain confidence, as if she understood something Luca hadn't, but finally, the woman spoke up.
"What do you say we test out this supposed excellent speed and agility?" She spoke in a thick Northern accent, taking long strides towards Luca before she was only a few inches from her face.
Luca quickly nodded and stepped back, preparing for what may come to her, she had never met this woman before, she had no clue what to expect. Luca waited impatiently for the woman to make a move, the woman simply held her hands in her pockets, seemingly staring blankly at Luca, those bright crimson eyes drilling straight into Luca. That woman had finally moved, well, kind of, she began tapping her foot on the coarse soil beneath her, this worried Luca, she had began panicking. What is this woman's skill? Suddenly the ground felt like it was moving, the earth underneath Luca trembled and suddenly emerging from the great depths of the Earth was a chimera that launched Luca high up into the air, mouth agape, ready to eat Luca whole. Luca felt her eyes widen as she tried to get out of this the more she fell towards the beast, the more detail she saw, its eyes were a silvery color, dull and dim. This chimera is blind. Luca took that as an opportunity to grab onto the beast's horn at the front of its face and yank it back with her body weight, causing the onyx monster to give out a wicked, ear-splitting roar as its head tilted back unnaturally far. Luca didn't spare even a moment more of her time holding onto the screaming beast when she heard the woman clap.
"Bravo Lucala," the violet-haired woman cheered sweetly,"I see your father was correct in allowing you to join us all here."
Once Luca had finally let go of the chimera, it had fully burrowed itself out of the ground, its ears perked up and it's forked tongue flicking about as it trotted towards the lady in red cheerfully.
"Ah it seems Boaka likes you Vikaros, well done you proved your strength to him nicely!"The woman continued to praise Luca for displaying such strength.
After finally exhaling a breath she had no idea she was holding, Luca spoke,"I'm sorry I'm quite confused right now. Who exactly are you? Is that your chimera?"
The woman paused and blankly stared,"You don't know who I am?" Luca shook her head hesitantly. The woman gave a seemingly exaggerated expression of surprise,"you seriously don't know who I am? I'm one of the squad captains, captain of squad 69, I picked this number cause I thought it was funny, if you look at it upside-down, it's still 69," the apparent captain let out a loud cackle-like laugh, tears pricking her eyes from how funny she thought her own joke was.
Luca didn't want to seem rude so she forced a small laugh, to which the captain let out a giant grin for, dramatically pointing at Luca, turning her head to smile at the general,"can I please have her on my team? She got my joke!"
"Captain Kimblee," the general started,"that isn't exactly a valid reason to-" before the general could finish his sentence, Captain Kimblee interrupted.
"Oh but of course her swiftness in both physicality and in quick thinking. Seeing her be able to immobilize Boaka was an impressive display of her skills,"Captain Kimblee bowed her head down and straightened her posture as she spoke. It was as if her personality did a complete 180, one moment she was a dopey child and now she's being the perfect professional.
The general nodded, his cybernetic pieces reflecting the sunlight,"very well then Captain Gisa Kimblee, starting tomorrow, Lucala Vikaros will be accompanying you and your squad."
Captain Kimblee flashed Luca a bright smile before taking long strides back to her position next to the general, her chimera following closely behind her.
"So her name is Gisa Kimblee?" Luca thought to herself,"she certainly seems like an odd one."
