Going to school the next day was surprisingly easy. His mother, while in tears, had told him she would start moving out in the next few days. Apparently, this whole plan had started long before Izuku caught wind of it. Izuku had been hurt, but more than that, almost relieved at the thought of her going. It was a licentious thought- to have any kind of positive reaction to being separated from her, but inevitable. Izuku was rarely home these days anyway since they had moved into the dorms and when he was, the time was often spent worrying over his mother. Maybe this would be good for both of them.

Izuku brightened considerably upon seeing Tsu and Todoroki waving to him from the end of the school's hallway. The three had formed an unlikely friendship after being teamed up one too many times in training. Izuku was able to serve as the main source of power while Todoroki gave them defense and Tsu could use her frog reflexes to catch the enemy off guard. They were an unstoppable trio. Bakugo had been furious when they first beat him in a battle simulation. Izuku smiled at the fond memory of Bakugo swearing up and down as he was led away by Mr.Aizawa.

"Izuku! You didn't answer my calls last night, I was worried." Tsu said as Izuku came closer to the two of them. Her face was blank, not in thoughtlessness, but rather a carefully painted display of openness that let Izuku know he would not be judged for what he said next. It was one of the many great characteristics of Tsu, her ability to evoke honesty from others was almost stronger than her quirk itself. She wasn't a beat around the bush kind of person and Izuku appreciated that.

"Sorry!" Izuku spoke quickly in his sudden nervousness. How would they react to Inko's actions? "I don't think I've even looked at my phone since you left. Everything was just so crazy last night I wasn't thinking clearly."

A wrinkle formed in between Todoroki's brows in obvious worry. His voice remained monotone but Izuku could read the tension in the other's eyes. "What happened last night?"

Izuku shifted his bag nervously, pointlessly stalling. They were going to find out sooner than later. Why not tell them now? Besides, if he didn't Todoroki would start his endless theories and that didn't end well for anyone. Izuku was still scarred from Todoroki's last Aoyama theory.

"Well, my mom is kinda leaving? It was all very sudden, Hiashi, um, I mean dad, has apparently been pressuring her to come to America with her the past month and she finally said yes. She isn't taking me though." Izuku assured quickly as he saw the look on Todoroki's face. "It gets even weirder actually. She contacted Principal Nezu and they made an arrangement for the school of U.A. to have temporary custody over me so I can continue my hero training here. The good news is now I get free soba!"

Tsu's face flashed through a million emotions before smoothing out into a controlled concern; she knew the other well enough to not try and influence his emotions.

Todoroki however looked like he had just seen a ghost. His mouth hung slightly a gasp in an almost comical fashion. He blinked- once...twice...three times before reacting. "Your mother is going to the States?" He asked slowly as if trying to process the information as he spoke. "And you're fine with this? You're just going to basically live at school?"

Well, it sounded a lot worse when he said it like that.

"I wouldn't say I'm okay with it. But I've accepted it." Izuku corrected but otherwise stayed silent as he watched Todoroki slowly absorb everything. Honestly, Izuku was looking like a pro compared to Todoroki's reaction.

"But I thought you and All Might...couldn't he just adopt you? Aren't you his-"

Tsu elbowed him before he could make a fool of himself for a second time. "They don't even look alike," Tsu whispered to him.
