"Har har." I say, my arms crossed while I glare at Nile, "The First Interior Police wouldn't dare to kill me."

"No Eve..." Nile mumbles and runs his hands through his hair, "I think they mean it this time. Do you understand me? Stay away Eve."

I scoff and look away from Nile, dropping my arms, "No promises. Putting that aside, I ordered for the area to be vacated because of the bomb threat. Considering there were around twenty minutes left on the timer when I attempted to disable it, I think the bomb will go off in five or six minutes."

"You couldn't disable the bomb?" Nile asks, his eyebrow twitching.

I roll my eyes, "I tried my best and followed the steps exactly. Didn't stop it though." I clear my throat, suddenly remembering something, "The bomb actually, its the new one that the Engineer Corps recently developed."

Nile instantly froze, his eyes wide. "That means..."

"Yes, Nile." I nod my head, "That means the First Interior have a hand in this, and for that reason, I will not step back on this. I will get the legal case back." I explain.

Nile is about to say something when the door opens and several soldiers walk in. They salute and one speaks up, "We have all suspects in the building right now."

"Great, send them to the holding cells." Nile waves them off.

"Including the victims?" The soldier asks, scrunching their eyebrows.

"Yes." Nile simply says.

The soldier glances over at me for my opinion and I nod my head with a sigh.

"Grab a nurse for Eve too." Nile side-eyes me, "She is injured." I suddenly remember my arm and glance over at it. I see blood oozing out of it and grimace.

"Will do, Sir." The soldiers salute and leave the room.

I move towards a chair when suddenly Levi appears in front of me. My eyes widen and I suddenly get a headache. I grasp my head and internally wince.

"Why are the victims staying in the cells? They didn't do anything wrong." He questions.

I move away from Levi and sit down, "Its standard procedure. I'll get them out in an hour. I've got to figure out some things before that."

Levi is about to ask me something when we hear a distant explosion. I sigh realising that I, in fact, failed to neutralise that damned bomb. I run my hands through my hair and let out a deep breath, before putting on a smile.

A nurse walks in and I beckon her over. She picks up my arm and starts examining it. I turn to Levi, "So right now the first thing we need to do is interview everyone, then house all victims..." I suddenly wince when the nurse injects my arm with some numbing medication, "As I was saying, we will house the victims then start the prosecuting of each and every single one of those bastards."

"Eve." Nile says, a dangerous vibe emitting off him, "I mean it when I say you should completely drop this case now."

I chuckle and glance up at Nile, the nurse already suturing my cut, "Don't worry Nile, if it makes you feel better I will actually write my will."

Levi and I stroll down the stairs leading to the cells. My cut is wrapped in a bandage and I cross my arms.

"You don't take orders from your commander?" Levi asks and I laugh.

"Sometimes you have to follow your gut. And my gut is telling me the First Interiors reign won't last for much longer." I glance over at him with a smile. As we reach the dungeon floors, I suddenly hear a cat meowing. I look around but don't see it. I furrow my eyebrows in confusion until I feel something against I leg. I shriek a little and jump away, looking down to see the poor cat from earlier.

My reaction causes a few soldiers to chuckle, to which I sarcastically laugh before looking back down at the cat. It stares up at me with wide eyes and while my brain tells me the cat is filthy, my body ignores it and reaches for him.

I lift him up and stare at him before gushing, "Aww... Look how adorable he is!"

"He's filthy." Levi deadpans.

"You're not wrong there." I say but cradle him anyway. We continue down the hallway, till we reach Cell Block 4. I glance around and recognise the sullen faces of our "friends". I resist the urge to chuckle while I walk down the hallway and stop in the middle, dropping the cat and placing my hands on my hips.

"Good evening all. My name is Eve Hamilton, second-in-command of the Military Police, not Annalise Biehl. And this is Captain Levi, Humanities Strongest Soldier, not my timid husband Ernst Biehl."

I clear my throat before continuing, "We will be conducting private interviews on all of you. You are each entitled to a lawyer and do not have to speak to me without one. I will have a soldier go around and take a list of your lawyers." I look over at the victims of their horrid behaviour, "If you cannot afford one, don't worry, you will be assigned one."

"After you make a decision about your lawyer and your lawyer arrives, you will be individually taken into interrogation rooms. Until then, you will reside in these cells." I clap my hands when I finish up. Soldiers arrive in the cell block and I smile when I notice it is my squad. "Otto, take a list of their lawyers and contact them please. Annie, please find 5 artists and send them to my office. Can the rest of you watch them please? I'll need you all in an hour or so."

They salute in reply and I smile. "That's all Levi." I say and beckon him to follow me up the stairs and to my office.

We quietly walk up the stairs, none of us saying anything. When we reach the top, we start to head in the direction of my office. Just as we are about to turn around the corner, Ralph appears, his arms crossed and leaning against a wall.

I ignore him, not even sparing him an extra glance. He steps off the wall and stands in front of me. I again ignore him and sidestep before he suddenly calls my name, "Eve."

"Nice to see you again Ralph. A pleasure really." I sarcastically say.

"It's almost like you aren't taking us seriously." he replies, venom in his voice.

"Really? It actually is almost like I'm not taking you seriously at all. Who would have guessed?"

"Eve. It's like you've forgotten who we are."

"No, I am aware. The First Interior Squad right?"

"Eve. Let me tell you something. We know everything about you. We know where you grew up. We know your parents. We know your childhood friends. We know who you have dated. We know where you live." He turns and takes a step closer to me, towering over me, "We know why you don't like people touching you. Eve. We know everything."

I turn my head and look at him, "Is that a threat?"

"Take it how you wish." He leans back, pleased with himself.

"Maybe you have forgotten who I am." I narrow my eyes at him, "Second-In-Command of this dammed regiment, Eve Hamilton. And if you think anything you just said has the slightest effect on me, try again bitch."
