Welcome, friends and readers!
Have you ever written a story and you thought it sucked? *raises hand*
Have you built a character, but wasn't sure if they were worthy enough? *raises hand*
Have you been given an assignment or just decided to write for fun? *raises hand*
If you answered yes to any one of these questions, you're not alone! (Did I mention I raised my hand for everything?)
Writing is a great gift to have. Telling stories is something that we are all blessed with. Sure, you can tell it by word of mouth, but it takes great strength and effort to write it all down.
Whether it's just for school, a diary, or work, we all write at some point in our lives.
But... What if you wanted your story to be heard by others? Where do you start?
You know, the best advice I could give to a writer came from a writer: "A writer writes."
Confusing, right? What does that even mean?
It means a lot of things to different people, here's how I saw it when I first heard it...
It doesn't necessarily mean that you write it down with pencil and paper. A writer will always find a story to tell, whether talking to themselves or telling the family about their day. It doesn't have to journey into far away lands or secret places underground, it can start at home.
As a writer, you will always find something to create. Whether fanfiction or your own original work.
Now, being an author is just about the same thing, at least how I've seen it. To write and publish your work, that's being an author. Even if your work isn't famous or on the New York Times Bestseller list (believe me, that takes a lot of luck and even more research), you are still letting your work be seen by the public.
So... Why Write?
Because you can!
That's the easiest answer I can give...

RandomI've been asked by friends and fellow students all the time: "How do I [fill in the blank]?" Now, I'm no expert, but I do know a good story when I read one! This little book will give you an idea of sorts on how the writing process goes...
