Epilogue

In a cozy little house somewhere in the State of Ventus, a pair of mother and daughter were sitting in front of a fireplace. The flames dances, giving a mysterious vibes to the shadows enveloping the room.

"And so, the Goddess sacrificed her self to save Aralon, leaving her beloved Phantom Emperor with a promised that she'll one day return." Narrated the mother to her daughter

"That's so sad! What happened to the Phantom Emperor after she died Mommy?" the little girl asked worriedly

"He waited for her. Days turned to months, and months turned to years. He patiently waited under the Tree of Origin, where they promised to meet." The mother continued her story

"Did they have a happy ending Mommy?" the little girl is about to cry

"Sadly, no. The Phantom Emperor waited for decades until his hair turned white, and his skin wrinkled. But he never get to meet her even until his death."

"No! That's too sad!" The little girl started to cry

"There, there. Don't cry little one."

"Mommy the Phantom Emperor is so pitiful. He waited for her for so long but never get to met her again until his death." The little girl said sadly as she wiped away her tears

"Don't be too sad, it's just a story from a long time ago Sweetie." The mother said to coax her

"But legends are based on true events Mommy! My teacher told me so." The little girl insisted

The mother laughed in amusement, "My little girl is so smart."

"Of course." She answered confidently

"Don't be too sad, someday the Phantom Emperor and the Goddess Amara will definitely meet. They promised, so it will come true." The mother said with a gentle smile

The little girl nodded her head with a smile, "I believed Mommy!"

"The sun is about to rise, are you still scared of your nightmares?" asked the mother as she stroke her daughter's hair.

"N-no.."

"Very good, you're so brave Sweetie."

The little girl smiled.

"Then I will prepare some breakfast, I'll also wake up your Dad so he can prepare for work."

"Okay Mommy.. Can I go out to play while you're cooking?"

"It's the beginning of spring but it's still cold outside."

"I'll wear a jacket!" the girl insisted

"Okay, okay. But don't go too far, okay?"

"Yes Mommy!" the girl responded in delight

"A-are you going out to play without Oreo?" a tiny voice asked

"Oreo, you're already awake?" the little girl asked in surprise

A little boy who seems to be around three years old was seated on the bed while yawning.

"You should sleep more." The little girl said

"Oreo wants to go with big sis!" the little boy

"Mommy will scold us."

"Oreo wants to go with big sis!" the little boy insisted

"Okay, okay, put on this jacket." The little girl said with a giggle

She put on a jacket before she ran outside, her little brother in tow.

The early bird neighbours greeted the siblings and they greeted them back happily.

The two walked on the familiar path towards the giant tree, the pride of their town, the Tree of Origin.

"Hmmp, what are you two doing here?" an annoyed voice questioned them on the way

A small temple was standing on the way, and a little girl is sweeping the ground.

"Hello Priestess Natalie!" The girl greeted the temple girl

"Big sis, she's scary.." said Oreo

"Who're you calling scary, you Chicken!" Natalie

"..... y-you." Oreo

"Come here and I'll teach you some manners!" Natalie

"...... o-okay." Oreo

"Why are you not fighting back Oreo?" the girl asked her brother

"O-oreo is scared but Oreo likes her very much..." Oreo

Oreo sat down on a wooden chair as he listens on the temple girl who is also a toddler like him.

The girl was speechless. Her little brother chose to play with that temple girl. She felt betrayed. Seeing her sheepish little brother being scolded but still happily smiling, she decided to ignore the two and just continued on her journey.

To her surprise, a little boy was sitting on one of the roots of the tree.

Her blue eyes met his hazel ones.

Time seems to stop.

The two of them stared at each other for a while.

"Ah! Are you our new neighbour?" the little girl exclaimed

The little boy timidly nod his head.

"It's so early, why are you here?" the little girl asked curiously as she sat beside the boy

"I-Im waiting." The little boy answered in a low voice

"Waiting? For what?"

"I don't know."

"You don't know? Pffft that's so weird." The girl laughed in amusement

"..... is it really weird?"

"Yes hahahaha."

".........."

"Don't worry I like weird things! Let's be friends!"

".........."

"My name is Amara, like the famous reincarnation of the goddess of alchemy Altha! What's your name?"

"I-Im Ember."

"Nice to meet you Ember!"

"Y-yes, nice to meet you too."

The two stared at each other, for some reason, they both smiled.

The two didn't know it yet.

But they met once again, as promised.
