Maeve's POV

"Do they really think there's no Chem Lab in the high school depertment because of me?" I asked Spencer...tumingin siya sakin mula sa paa niya.

he smiled and shook his head.

"But, you know it is true na pinag kukwentuhan ka talaga nila kasi hindi kana umaalis sa tapat ng microscope, db?" I asked again, trying to a have a conversation. Halat naman kasi na ayaw sakin nung ibang scholars, so I think this is the least that I be friends with. 

tumango lang siya ang look down again at his shoes, "this is it." tumigil siya sa harap ng isang locker, and without looking sinabing yun na yung locker ko. I check the number, and yes, yun nga yun.

"how did you know?" tanong ko.

"I have an eidetic memory." maikling sagot niya at umupo sa floor, indian seat, leaning his back sa katabing locker, and pulled out a book, and start reading. "that might take a while, hindi nag lilinis ng mga locker and college student, and I know you have to clean up this one."

tumango lang ako and open my locker. Tama nga siya...hindi nga nag lilinis ng locker and mga students. May bulok na frappe pa.

I look around for a garbage can, ng may inabot siya sakin na kulay itim...

"Garbage bag, you'll ned that." sabi niya habang nag babasa parin.

"thank you.." sagot ko. "Alam mo, mas madali matandaan yung binabasa mo kung binabasa mo tlga sila, yung hindi ka lang nag scan." dagdag ko, dahil napansin kong ang dali niya mag palit ng page.

"I am reading." sabi nito at tumingin sakin, nahalat niya yata na nag taka ako. " can read 20,000 words in one minute."

napalaki ang mata ko, "wow! ano pa ba ang hindi ko alam tungkol sayo?" tanong ko ng pabiro.

"well, aside from knowing that I have an eidetic memory and I can read 20,000 words in one minute, I have an IQ of 187, 3 PhDs in Chemistry, Engineering, and Math, BAs in Psychology and Sociology, and I am ta--"

"yup, I know that one." Putol ko sknya. He looked at me and nod, "okay." then, turned back on reading his book.

"can you please talk! I can't handle this silence." I said.

"what do you want to talk about?" tanong niya, hindi parin na aalis ang tingin sa librong hawak nito.

"Are you kidding me? don't tell me na magaling ka din mag multi-tasking..." I joked again, 

"Actually not, there's a research that proved that you're really not finishing up things if you're multi-tasking, so there's no such thing as multi-tasking." he said and put down the book. "If you want to talk, I can talk. I am just awkward in situation like this. So, you have to go on first...always." 

"No wonder they said that you'll marry that microscope someday." I murmured, pero narinig ata ako, dahil nag simula nanaman siyang mag salita.

"So you haven't heard that I took that microscope home?" he said looking at me seriously, napatigil ako mag linis ng locker and look at him. I flinch ng gumalaw siya, nakakatakot pala tong lalaking ito. Ang seryoso sa buhay.

I was about to say sorry, ng tumawa siya...tumawa siya...as in..tumawa siya ng malakas na parang wala ng sumunod na araw.

"I was just joking...hahahahaha... I should have took a photo of your face as if you cannot believe what I said."  natatawang sabi nito sakin. Tamang tama may papel na basura sa locker, kaya naman tinapon ko iyon lahat sakanya.

"stooop...Maeve..." he said still laughing. I don't know he can also laugh. "Maeve...I was just joking..." he said trowing the crumpled paper back at me.

"ohh, really, you won't stop?" he asked laughing...he stood up and grab the other garbage in the locker, buti nalang natapos ko na lahat ng nasty garbage sa loob nung locker, mga papel at mga dry garbage nalang ang nandun.

"stooooop!" sigaw ko.

"you started..." sagot niya, at may tumama sakin na matigas na bagay. "Ouch!" reklamo ko.

"ohh," he stopped, and looked at me, "are you okay? where did I hit you?" tanong niya.

"You hit me in..." I stop in the mid sentence and trew a juice pack saknya. I didn't know na may laman pa pala iyon, so some spilled in his polo shirt, I appologitically look at him. He looked at me and grin ng may malokong ngiti, at bago pa siya maka ganti...

"SPENCER!!" narinig kong tawag sknya, we both stop at lumingon kami sa pinangalingan ng boses.

si JJ.

"We have to go..." tawag ni Aaron saknya.

tumango lang siya sakanila. He gave me back lahat ng hawak niyang crumpled paper, "I'm sorry, I have to go. Here's my number if you need something." he said and grab my arm and wrote his phone number.

I only nod and smiled. He quickly ran towards the group.

I can hear Derek's teasing him...umikot at nag lakad na sialng lahat expect kay Alex. She's still looking at me.

"Alex, come on. We're late." Tawag ni Penelope. walang emotion na umiwas ng tingin sakin at sumunod sa grupo.

Spencer's POV

I put on my shades and lean on the van's window. Kanina pa nila ako binobomba ng tanong kung bakit ako nakikipag kaibigan sa isang "outsider"

"Spencer!! don't sleep. Come on." yugyug sakin ni JJ

"I'm sleepin, stop." I said andfold my arms.

"sleep your ass!" mataray na sagot nito sakin at tumigil na.

"15 minutes more, we'll be late. Traffic eh." sabi ni Aaron na siyang nag drive.

"What?? yung isa kasi dyan, alam ng may pupuntahan nakipag harutan pa." pabulong na sabi ni Penelope. I just ignore them. I know how they feel with other scholars, and I think Maeve's situation is worst kasi may letter of recomendation pa siya na makasali sa staff ng new paper. We hate those kind of people na baguhan at kaylangan aming baguhin lahat ng dati namin gawain.

"Come on, she's not that bad. She can keep up with our Dr. Sepncer Reid here, I guess that's enough to consider her in the group." Derek saved me, still faking my sleep, I just tap Derek shoulder for a thank you

"we should talk to her, directly." Alex said.

"just like what we did to the others, and she'll just back out just like the others!" excited na sabi ni penelope.

"No, not that. Derek's right. She's one hell of a girl if she can make this doctor laugh like that." sagot ni Alex. I like how derek and alex make an effort protecing maeve...but, we all don't know what kind of girl is she.Yes, she can make me laugh...she can...she does things that no other girls did to me.

"whatever then! Tomorrow, we'll try to give her a shot." wala sa loob na sabi ni JJ,

"Good then, we can hangout and spend a night sa dorm ni lover boy." sabi ni Derek

I didn't comment back...we usually hangout sa bahay ni Aaron or ni Alex, both have work kaya naman maganda mga bahay niyan, so I doubt na matutuloy kami sa maliit kong dorm. Baka palayasin pa kami ng ibang students dun.

But, a part of me cannot wait for tomorrow....
