I started preparing me a Caesar salad and thought about Chaz, I was deathly afraid of taking a chance on another guy so soon especially someone like Chaz. Sure he’s sweet, aren’t all guys in the beginning, but I’m sure after he secures a relationship with me he will show me true colors. But, regardless of all of this he still deserves a thank for the flowers and bringing me home last night.

ME: Thanks for the roses, they are my favorite, and thanks for the ride last night.

CHAZ: No problem J and I am glad you liked the flowers. How was your day? I thought I had sacred you away last night lol

ME: Lol why would have sacred me off? It was purely one friend taking another home. If anything I am sorry I ruined your evening with Jessie.

CHAZ:  I was never gonna have sex with her…I had just met her last night and I was just making conversation with her, nothing more or less…

ME: Please don’t lie Chaz…I saw you ealier that night whispering in her ear and her feeling or you and giggling…

CHAZ: Ari, please believe me, there is nothing going on with that girl. And trust me after last night I will never be talking to that girl again, she was really wildin last night for no reason.

ME: You don’t have to explain yourself to me, we are just friends, you can be with whoever you want.

CHAZ: Smh you want to make sure I know that I don’t forget that you are just my friend. As crazy as it is I can get you outta my system. I really like and want to be with you, but I respect your decision to just remain friends.

ME: I have to go…I need to prepare myself for work in the morning. Ttyl

If he texted me back I never seen it because I put my phone on the charger and prepared myself for a shower, I really did need to get ready for work in the morning. As I stood under the showerhead I thought about what Chaz said, I could have told him the feeling was mutual but something was stopping. I don’t know if it was fear or just plain stubbornness. Before I knew it my skin was pruning and time for me to get out of the shower. I went into my room and lotion my body up and put on some boy shorts and a sports bra and got in bed without once looking at my phone again.

Before I knew it my alarm my going off, it was 6:30 in the morning, time for me to prepare for my daily grind. I dragged myself out of bed and went to the bathroom to brush my teeth and put my contacts in. I went to closet decided I wear my new sheath dress I just brought with some black pointed toe Louboutins. A little eyeliner and mascara, and my hair in a topknot and I was ready to go out the door. I grabbed my black Michael Kors tote bag, car keys, and phone and dashed for the door. I was trying to make a Starbucks run before work, because I was desperate for some caffeine after a fitful night of sleep. I made it Starbucks just in time to get a Venti Carmel Frappuccino and still make it to work by 8:30.

I sat down at my desk when my assistant came in, “Good morning Ms. Carter, how was your weekend?” I said. “Good Morning Monica, it was eventful to say the least.” I chuckled. “How about you?” I asked out of politeness. “It was good, I got to spend some much needed time with my little one.” She gushed. “That’s wonderful Monica, I am glad you had a great weekend,” I said. “Thanks, are you ready to good over your schedule for the week?” she inquired. “Yup. Shoot, let’s hear whose searching for me.” I joked. “Well today we have the staff meeting, nothing you need to prepare for just a general meeting and preparing for the upcoming mediator trips. Speaking up that, you have a doctor’s appointment tomorrow afternoon to get your shots and stuff so you will be cleared to go to the Coast. Ummm Wednesday you have lunch with Donavan.” “Wait! Cancel that and any other appointments with Donavan.” I said “Ohhh okay, well you have no appointment that day. You have cleared your schedule Thursday to prepare the trip to the Ivory Coast.” She rattled on. “Will your plus one still be Donavan…?” she asked hesitantly. “No, Monica he is deleted from my life. Anything referring to that asshole should be automatically trashed.” I said. “Yes ma’am. So no plus this trip?” she asked. “Oh no, my best friend Ashlee will be my plus one. I will have her information emailed to Ethan in customs today.” I said as I was programing a reminder to my computer. “It there is nothing else we should head to the meeting.” I said and I gathered my drink, notepad and pen.
