Chapter Fourteen- clues

Beams of sunlight tried to escape through the thick veil of the maroon curtain covering the French window.

A shadow cast formed next to the queen sized bed, reflecting it on the white mahogany wooden floor. As the beam reached Vivian’s face, she turned to another side, burrowing her face in the soft red pillow. As she turned her head it felt like it weighted a ton.

Vivian tried to ignore her pounding head, and tried to go back to sleep. Just then, she heard a loud crash and then the sound of mixer grinder.

A thought formed in Vivian’s foggy, pulsating mind, Where am I? Despite the fact that it felt like her head was about to burst, Vivian got up, gripping some of her hair in her hand so as to ease the headache.

Vivian looked around her room, everything was in the shade of red and white, from the white dresser to the red queen size bed standing against the beautiful white wooden floor. The room opened up from the sliding french door ro the balcony.

Feeling a little relieved that she still had all her clothes on, Vivian tried to get up. Panic soon started to grip her senses when Vivian couldn’t recall this room, or how she had ended up here?

Vivian’s legs were shaky on the wooden floor as she made her way to the door right infront of her. The door opened up with a click. Lights invaded Vivian’s eyes as soon as she stepped out, she squinted them. The headache grew even more and Vivian fough to keep herself upright.

Vivian groaned as the pounding in her head increased. She didn’t know she had continued to walk blindly, as her hand touched something cold, on impulse, with her eyes still closed, Vivian bend down and rested her head on the cold surface. She felt much better.

Vivian heard a deep chuckle near her ear. Goosebumps rose on her back, and for some reason Vivian already knew who it was.

The voice confirmed whatever little doubt she had, ‘’Feel like a wreck, Miss Wade?’’

‘’Like a train ran over me a thousand times,’’ Vivian muttered, still keeping her head on the cool surface, which she now knew was marble, Vivian had managed to open her eyes with a bit of effort.

James Sinclair laughed gently. Vivian sighed at the sound of James Sinclair’s laughter, even though she was cringing at the slightest of sound, his laughter still sounded the same. Erotic and beautiful, ‘’Here,’’ James poked Vivian's shoulder, as she lay on the cool marble kitchen slab. She turned her head slowly towards him, her head spin despite the small and slow movement.

James had a glass of water in his hand, and a tablet in another, ‘’Have this,’’ He shoved the small white tablet in Vivian’s palm, ‘’and stop leaning on the slab like that, you’ll break your neck,’’ he added with a chuckle.

It was a hilarious sight for James to see, Vivian leaning awkwardly on the marble slab and groaning in pain now and then, Vivian was always so prim and proper and in her element, that James had been caught off guard. Vivian reluctantly got up, whimpering when she lost the cool contact. She took the tablet without questioning what it was, she could’ve taken a hard drug, she didn’t care. All that mattered was that the headache was slowly subsiding.

Finally she turned to look at James, her eyes fully open, she already felt a little better. Whatever James Sinclair gave her was strong, ‘’Thanks—

The rest of the words died in her throat, her eyes widened a bit at the sight. James Sinclair was sitting in black cotton lower. Just that. Nothing covering his naked chest, hair tousled and messy. He was sitting on a wooden chair, eating a meal.
