Lost and Found

Chapter 7

Artemis' POV

Ashton drives his car to the car restaurant. I send a quick text to Veronica saying that she can have anything in the kitchen and she can sleep in my room. Don't ask me why, but when I saw her crying, my heart broke. I felt the need to comfort her. She's so shy and keeps to herself but the more you hang around her, the more you realize that there's so much more to her.

I know what your thinking. Why the hell am I thinking about a girl while I'm on a date? I'll explain later when my plan succeeds. We make small talk until we finally arrive at the restaurant. We sit down at a table and continue to make small talk while looking at the menus.

"So tell me about yourself." I say to him.

"What do you want to know."

"Anything. Your family, what you want to be, want job your parents have, anything." I say as I stare into his eyes.

"Well, I live with my mom and dad, I have a little sister whose 12 years old, she lives with my grandparents. My parents have their own business. My dad is obviously the CEO of Ricci Corps. He wants me to step up but I don't think I'd really want to. I would like to be doctor. My mom is also part of the business. My favorite color is blue, I love Italian food, annnnd when I'm bored I like watching sports or hanging with friends."

"Jackpot." I think in my head.

The food comes out and we talk more. Then it's time to go home. He drops me off gives me a kiss on the cheek. I walk in and he drives off. Thank god. I walk up into my room and see the girls either on the bed or the floor.

"Well well well. Look who's back." Kate says.

"What are you talking about?" I ask with confused tone even though I already know what's up.

"Oh don't act like you literally aren't the best assassin of all time Shadow Hunter." Mia says.

"It's about time you all figured it out."

They look at me confused.

"Oh come on. Don't think I don't know about all of you being in the American mafia, my family's allies."

They all look at me shocked.

"How the hell do you know?" Ziya asks.

"Like Mia said. I'm the best assassin there is. It was pretty obvious actually. Once I caught Kate walking to back to class from the bathroom and her gun was hanging out. I pushed it in a little and pulled her shirt out enough to cover it. Then I did some research on all of you."

"So that's why you touched my ass. I thought you were just trying to scare me in a creepy old man kind of way." Kate laughs a little.

"Anyways, I put the outfit in my closet completely visible on purpose. I wanted you to find out."

"Why?" they all ask in unison.

"I have my reasons."

I get dressed in comfy clothes and the girls all go to the guest bedrooms while I stay in my room with Veronica. I'm laying bed in my phone while Ronnie's in the bathroom brushing her teeth. She comes out and sits on the bed.

"I have a question." she says to me.

"Hit me."

"Do you like Ashton?"

"To be honest no. I only went on a date with him because he reminded me of someone I met before and I was right. V, he's not who he says he is. He's a very dangerous man. I need you to promise me you'll stay away from him." I say, taking her hand in mine.
