Chapter 6: Seeking Help

Y/n's POV:

I couldn't help but worry about Sara, she got hurt real bad. But I know she can toughen it out, she's a brave girl after all. But I also know that she felt some kind of fear when first hearing about this place, even being here...

I managed to get out, without a scratch.. sort of, some kind of creature was chasing after me. But luckily I got out of there. Now my next worry was Sara. I hope she stayed where she is, because it would make things harder for me.

Sara's POV:

Oh my God, I-I don't know what that thing was... I-it was like a b-baby or something and it made me so scared. I-I couldn't go back to that place, I don't even know where to go from here. Y/n, please help me *silently cries*

Y/n's POV:

I made it back to the streets, hoping that Sara is still at the Laundry place. I ran directly to the place and I opened the door just to find Sara gone.

Y/n:"Sara? You here still? Where are you? Come on, now's not the time to play and mess around-"

I heard nothing but silence, and I started to look everywhere but... Nothing. But as I looked, I see some dusted body. Well I mean, there was no body but it left some kind of dust that took the form of a body. But it was... Small. I don't remember anyone else being with us, it was just me and her. What if someone else came to her and she ran off? The question is, where did she go? She couldn't have gone far... Right? Yup, I was right... This has made my job alot harder, but she's my partner and so I have to search for her. I better keep the supply with me, and I'm hoping there's more in other places.

As time went by, I looked through some buildings but nothing. No Sara and no other people are here. I couldn't help but feel fear for her safety, I needed to find her.. because I need her help to solve this case, and I'm not leaving without her.. otherwise... Her family will kill me.

And so that's what I kept doing, searching... And searching... And searching. That's all I did.. I just kept searching for her. I don't know if we're friends but I know she's my partner, my new assigned partner. And so far, we got along pretty well at first, and now we're both separated and lost. And all I can do is one thing... Pray for her safety.

And I needed to focus and look for her. I looked up at the sky, nothing but white and some kind of Ashes falling out of the sky like Snow. Covering the ground with it. I slowly closed my eyes and took a deep breath, trying to think where she could be.

Flashback:(two days ago)

Y/n:"so Sara, why'd you join the police force?"

Sara:"my dad was a former Marine, he served for awhile now. Another words, I wanted to make a difference like he did. I wanted to do what's right."

Y/n:"your dad.. what's his name, if you don't mind me asking?"

Sara:"my dad's name was Alex Shepard. Like I said, he used to be a Marine.

Y/n:"wow, that's pretty impressive. He must be famous for his line of work. What about your mother, is she around?"

Sara:"sadly... Not anymore. She died of Cancer three years ago. My dad was gonna be shipped to another place but he couldn't leave because he wanted to be there for her, and she wanted to see our faces before she passed away. It's been hard but... We managed.

Y/n:"sorry... I shouldn't have asked. My condolences. When do you ever visit her? Any special day I mean?"

Sara:"every Sunday. My dad thinks that every Sunday is a good day to visit her, knowing that she's resting peacefully in Paradise"

Y/n:"hm, well he's not wrong. I never grew up in any church. Neither did my sister also. Here uh, my hands have been burning a bit because I got us some coffee"

Sara:"wow, thanks. I think Coffee was very much needed."

Y/n:"yeah, definitely. Especially for work."

Sara:"I see what you meant when you said that work is exhausting-"

Y/n:"not sure how Caitlyn does it. She enjoys the work."

(Present time)

Of course... That's where she would be. Today is Sunday, and she visits her mother every Sunday. But I know her grave can't be here... Right? Or am I wrong? No... I'm pretty sure I'm right. If I'm not mistaken, she'll be there at a graveyard. But... Where are the graveyards? I need a map to help me out just to get me around town.
