{ Luke }

"Luke! What the hell is this about Taylor and a kid?" My mom screamed through the phone. I sighed. I hadn't told her about Taylor and I getting back together, and I surely haven't told her about Carter. It's not that I didn't want to, I just didn't know how to. I didn't even think about the fact that there is social media and paparazzi.

"Mom, I was going to tell you" I held my phone between my shoulder and ear as I turned into the parking lot of Carter's daycare. I was in charge of pickup today. Taylor got stuck with one of her clients who apparently didn't like the interior design plan she drew up.

"Honey, I have a grandson that I didn't know about" she sighed,

"I didn't know until a few months ago either mom" I leaned my head back on the driver's seat as I parked,

"She didn't tell you" my mom gasped-I know she's shaking her head right now

"No, but Taylor and I are past that"

"I thought Taylor was better than that" she mumbled,

"Mom, she was scared okay. I told you that's in the past" I was getting irritated, "Look, I have to go. I'm picking Carter up from daycare"

"Okay honey" Mom let out a breath, "I want a facetime tonight with all three of you"

"Bye," I hung up and inhaled. I let my phone fall in my lap and collected myself. I was going to tell my family. I was going to tell them before July- that's when they're coming to visit.

After a minute, I got out and walked into the building. I smiled at the desk lady then opened the door to the room Carter was in.

"Daddy!" Carter spotted me, jumping from his spot on the carpet and running into my legs,

"Hey dude" I picked him up, walking across the room and grabbing his diaper bag from the cubby. I got him signed out then walked out to the car.

"Did you have a good day?" I asked as I got Carter buckled into his carseat,

"Yeah" he smiled, "Go home, go pway?"

"Yeah Car. We're going home to play" I assured then hopped into the driver's seat and headed back to Taylor's apartment.

As soon as we walked inside, Carter was dragging me to his room.

A few hours later, I heard the door open. I got up from Carter's floor and walked out, finding Taylor putting her stuff down on the floor,

"Hey" she peered up at me. I smiled and walked over to her, wrapping my arms around her. She pecked my lips then rested her head on my chest,

"You okay?" I whispered,

"Yeah. Just frustrated I had to redo all those plans" she looked back up, then moved off of me and into the kitchen where I followed her,

"Uh, my mom wants us to facetime her tonight- like me, you, and Carter," I told her. Taylor froze and looked at me,

"Your mom probably hates me," she told me then moved to put the dishes in the sink in the dishwasher,

"She hates me more right now. She found out about Carter on Twitter" I sighed. Taylor nodded and leaned against the counter,

"Okay," she sighed.

I kept watching Taylor for the rest of the evening. I could see the stress. She was constantly looking at the clock too.
