Today was a pretty big day for us. Today is Carter's preschool orientation and then we would be going to get his school supplies.

I woke up early and could not fall back asleep. I slowly got out of bed and crept downstairs, shocked when I saw Petunia awake and sitting by the back door,

"Let's go out Piggy" I laughed, turning off the house alarm then letting Petunia into the backyard. Once I saw she was down the steps and in the yard, I made coffee then went and sat out on the deck with a book.

I was out by myself for a while. Petunia was out laying in the grass. She loves laying in the sun and the sun just came up so it's not too hot for her yet.

I turned as I heard the door open, seeing Carter walk out rubbing his eyes,

"Good morning buddy" I smiled as he climbed up next to me, "Is Daddy still sleeping?"

"No. He's playing guitar" he yawned and cuddled in my side.

Carter leaned down and kissed my stomach, catching me off guard,

"Good morning baby sister" he whispered,

"That was very sweet Carter, but buddy, we don't know if it's a sister or a brother yet. You may have a brother"

Carter shrugged. I laughed and kissed his head,

"Do you want some breakfast?" I asked, standing and letting Carter follow behind me inside. He nodded and stood by the fridge door. I knew what he wanted so I grabbed his sippy cup and filled it with milk and sent him off to watch tv while I made breakfast.

Luke came into the kitchen as I got Carter set up for breakfast. He walked behind me, wrapping his arms around me with his hands on my bump, and kissed my cheek,

"Good morning babe"

"Morning" I smiled and turned to kiss his lips,

"Gross" Carter whined and started eating his waffle. Luke and I laughed and pulled away.

Luke quickly rounded the counter and lifted Carter so he could sit down and place Carter on his lap,

"You excited to go see your preschool?"

"No" Carter pouted,

"Why not buddy?" Luke questioned,

"I'm scared"

"There's nothing to be scared of. Today me and Mommy will be with you the whole time. And Tucker will be there!"

Carter just pouted,

"I promise buddy it will be fun. Maybe after we will go get milkshakes" I spoke up. Carter's face broke out with a smile and a giggle,

"There's the smile" I grinned, "I promise we will get milkshakes"

Carter was clinging to mine and Luke's hands as we walked in. He did not want to leave our sides.

We found the classroom he'd be in and entered, seeing a bunch of other kids and parents,

"Hello hello! I'm Miss Hunters" the teacher walked over to us with a bright smile,

"Hi, I'm Taylor and this is Luke. And this little one is Carter" I introduced,

"It is so nice to meet you Carter. We're going to have a lot of fun when school starts" Miss Hunters knelt down to his height, "All the kids are getting to play while I talk to Mom and Dad. You can head on over there"

Carter immediately shook his head and cowered back into Luke's legs,

"Go play buddy. Tucker will be here soon" Luke encouraged as we let go of his hands,

"We have tons of toys. We have cars and trucks, dolls, and some Pooh and Tigger toys"

Carter's eyes lit up,

"You love Pooh and Tigger. Why don't you go find those toys?" I lightly nudged Carter. Carter looked up at us and we gave him a nod and he slowly walked over to the toy bin.

Miss Hunters stood then shook our hands,

"Sorry. He's a little shy" Luke apologized, letting his hand rest on my back, using his thumbs to rub circles. I'm carrying this baby more in my back so it's been hurting a lot,

"He's perfectly fine. Now if you guys would like to have a seat I'll get started on a presentation. Just find the envelope with Carter's name"

Luke and I nodded then went and found our folder, taking a seat at the table and beginning to fill out the forms in it.

"Okay buddy, time to pick a backpack and lunchbox," I told Carter. After orientation, we were given a list of school supplies, so we got milkshakes like promised then headed over to Target.

We had just about all he needed except the lunchbox and backpack. Carter was now tired so he was whiny and wanted to go home, but he needs a backpack and lunchbox so we can't go home until he does that,

"Car Car, as soon as you pick them out we can go home" Luke sighed, frustrated. Carter was literally crying as we walked through the store. Carter finally huffed and looked around,

"This one" he pointed to the blue Toy Story backpack with a matching lunchbox,

"Are you sure?" I asked. He nodded and rubbed his eyes. I grabbed them off the shelf and laid them in the cart,

"Go home now?" he asked, crossing his arms sassily,

"Yes baby boy. We are going home"

Carter fell asleep in the car so Luke carried him upstairs to finish his nap before he came downstairs. I got to work putting Carter's name on his school stuff and making sure we got everything and that I didn't have to make another Target trip, or Luke didn't have to,

"How do you think he's going to do when school actually starts?" Luke came back down, leaning over my back,

"I think we're going to have a lot of tears" I laughed lightly and leaned back,

"Me too" Luke laughed back, "How's baby today?"

I smiled and placed my hand on my stomach,

"Needs to get out of my back" I groaned,

"Why don't you go lay down. I'll take care of this and make dinner"

I smiled and pecked his lips, heading for the stairs,

"I love you" I called,

"I love you too"
