HI IT'S BEEN SO LONG

Thought I might as well update this, why not

If it's not already obvious enough I wrote this book in middle school lmao

I was in a really dark place when I wrote them n you can kinda tell 💀💀

Anyway, my mental health is still shit but my views on everything are kinda more cheery I guess. Or more depressing, it depends which way you look at it.

DISCLAIMER:
This is just my personal opinion. I'm not at all claiming that these are facts, these are just my own thoughts, theories, and observations. Every religion and belief system is valid n I respect your views ! Just thought I'd clarify.

I still think that we're all pretty insignificant, but in a really beautiful way. None of our worries matter in the slightest to anyone but us. We're not meant to know everything because we were never really "meant" for anything at all. We are alive by chance. We are alive because of a series of events that all lead up to now.

There's no way there's no other life in this universe. It's so big that there may be a society more advanced than we can ever comprehend in our limited view.

I don't think we should be frustrated at that possibility, but thankful maybe.

We don't matter in the most wonderful way. Why should we? We're just so small.

There's something self centered and shallow about saying "save the planet". The planet will likely be here billions of years after our extinction. And let's face it, we will most likely go extinct at some point. We are such a small part of human history, yet we're so full of ourselves. Sure we're "smart". Well, we're smart compared to everything else on Earth.
But when you think about it, we've only stepped foot on one moon. We've never even stepped foot on another planet. Sure, you can say we'll probably step foot on Mars in our own lifetimes. But even then, that's 1 other planet we've physically reached compared to the practically never-ending amount. There's just always more.

I guess you could say that comparison is unfair. But that's exactly my point. We're nothing compared to everything.

Let me go back to the save the planet thing, I went off on a tangent.
How are we supposed to be so "advanced" if we can't even get along with each other? If even something as small and insignificant as the Earth and it's elements can defeat the strongest bunch of us?

I guess I wish "save the planet" was "save the people" or "save the animals we know" or "save the Earth we know".
What's in danger, most importantly (most importantly to people), is US. WE are in danger. Not the planet. The planet WE know is in danger. The animals WE know are in danger.
Once you break it down, you start to see how pre occupied we are with ourselves. How we are literally in our own little world, where we create our own problems that endanger our own species.
Another thing I hate is the plastic thing. Plastic takes 1,000 years to decompose. 1,000 years sounds insane to us, since we often can't even live 100. But the Earth is billions of years old. Plastic won't do much, if anything, to the Earth itself. If we trash Earth, it won't matter.

Even if we trash Mars, it won't matter. If we trash 50 more planets it won't matter. Hell, if we trash millions of planets it won't matter. We could change a planet in a significant way, but that wouldn't matter because everything is changing anyway. We're just part of it. Just because we change a planet doesn't mean that "our" change is anymore important or different than any of the other changes.

And of course, it's shitty and selfish to be okay with animals dying in horrific ways just because we want money. And I don't think any of the environmentally conscious people are dumb or whatever. It's natural and beautiful how people want to preserve their environment.
I just find it interesting how the movement is worded. It tells a lot about us.

People always like to say how fast things are moving, how much things have changed in the last 10, 20 years. I think people have always said that.
When you really think about it, nothing has really changed. Teens will always act like teens. The older generation will always act like the older generation, and so on.
The sun still rises, the waves still crash, the stars still shine, and Saturn still has its rings.

We are nothing to everything, and we will never understand anything completely, and I think that's pretty cool.

None of this matters. I used to find that depressing, but now the opposite. It's beautiful how insignificant we are. We're just doing our thing. Worrying about shit that doesn't matter.

Do whatever the fuck you want. It will never matter.
But I'd love it if it were that simple. But we have this thing called empathy, so no matter how many times we tell ourselves that, we'll always care.

Sure nothing matters in the grand scheme of things. But shit matters here. And shit matters to you and to me.
It's just nice to think outside of us and here for once.
