Time

Time seems pretty self evident when you think about it generally. But when you really think about it, you start to really question what time is. We created a way to measure time. We created the word "time". When you think about that, it makes the whole topic a lot more confusing and complicated. To be honest, I don't really know what time is. I don't think anyone does.

Now, there isn't necessarily a wrong way to measure time. Someone can use seconds to measure 10 years and they technically wouldn't be wrong. Someone can use milliseconds to measure 100 years and they wouldn't be wrong either.

Here's another idea. It's common knowledge that time is infinite. But is it really? Has anyone proved this theory? Is time finite? I don't think we'll ever be able to answer that question. It's not something humans were made to figure out, it may be beyond our comprehension.

Here's what I always think about. I always think about the concept of infinity and not once has it ever made sense to me. If time is infinite, then hasn't everything already happened?

Infinity might seem like a simple concept, but it's more complicated than just "forever".

If time is infinite, why?

Time is everything.

Without time, there would be absolutely nothing. Without past and/or future, there is no present. Hmmmmm. But what is nothing? I'll make a separate chapter on that topic.

Let's think about it this way. Let's say time is finite for humans. If you think about it, this statement is true, we're not immortal. So, we have our own time.

Time is finite for us, if there is no afterlife, and time may be infinite for the universe.

Any living thing (as far as we know) has a limited amount of time. Time is finite for life.

Knowing that time may be finite for us, why are we wasting it? Why are we so worried about pleasing certain people when the only person we have to please is ourselves? Wow that sounded wrong. Oops 🙃

The only thing that truly matters, or should matter, the most is ourselves. That's how survival works. Now that we're mostly surviving and not worrying about bears killing us all the time, we have put those worries into something else we consider somewhat of a threat. Whether it's someone judging us or attempting to take away some of our pleasure. It's not like someone taking our pleasure would kill us, but our monkey mind is selfish and needs to protect what's ours. So, our natural instinct is to either fight, flight, or freeze. These instincts don't always come up when a serious threat is in our way. It could be something so simple, yet we consider it a threat to our happiness, whether that's temporary happiness or our overall happiness. In fact, it could be any threat made to anyone. Well, of course that depends on your personality, what kind of person you are, and what you consider a threat.

I'm kind of going with a different route on this one. At first I was talking about time and now I'm talking about natural instincts?? K I'm done with this chapter this is a mess omfg
