Candle lights were emitted from the seemingly-cruel shacks that were a little too close to each other. Women walked barefoot, Men wore thorn clothes, skinny children ran around while their feet teased the puddles on the ground. Fires were lit, preparing for the cold night, sickness cast the older members, of the families, into living ghosts. Sierra couldn't help but feel thrown at this sight, emotion knoted in her chest as she saw hunger, health issues, dirt and death lurk in the community's shadows.

Driving past this scenery brought blinding tears to the 25 year old's eyes. For fear of hitting someone Sierra, pulled into some shade provided by a Jacaranda tree, and rested her head on the steering wheel. Guilt made the tears flow forcefully down her pale cheeks. Guilt that she was far blessed with a luxurious life, comparing to these people, but she never appreciated nor been thankful for it.

Totally caught up in her emotional turmoil, Sierra missed the sound of approaching little footsteps.
