Chapter 2

After a short study session at the school's library, both Mayumi and Haruhi headed home.

But instead of actually heading home, Mayumi requested to go eat at the newly opened cake shop just around the corner.

"Quit joking around... you have to take studying seriously you know? And it's already this late,"

Haruhi rejected Mayumi's offer.

"You're no fun! My head hurts after all the studying and now I wanna eat something sweet...... I've decided! I'll go alone then!"

Mayumi declared then walked at a direction opposite of where her house is located.

Haruhi worried about this troublesome girl and have decided to tag along.

"You're a pain! I'll go with you cause its dangerous for a middle school girl to walk around alone at this time."

Haruhi then followed as Mayumi walks towards the direction of the bakery(?)

A few minutes later, Mayumi stopped walking, looked around the area and with a blank face, she asked,

"Where are we?"

Even though Mayumi was the one who knows where the bakery is supposed to be, she still asked Haruhi of as to where they are currently standing now.

Haruhi having forgotten that Mayumi has a very bad sense of direction led them to a deserted place that even people living from the neighborhood wouldn't know that part of this road actually exists.

"You idiot! Like hell I know where we are!" Haruhi snapped once again, this is the second time she snapped today is what Mayumi have in mind upon witnessing such action.

"B-but you're the genius and I'm the idiot,"

Mayumi confessed that she really is an idiot.

"I'm just average, yet to other people I'm a genius and I have no idea why they do so...What more, is that I definitely wouldn't know that this place existed since I'm one of those so called indoor type of person,"

Haruhi denied to be called a genius and blatantly confessed that she's an indoor type which means that she does not go out much, obviously, as her best friend, Mayumi already knows this fact.

"Then let's find someone, how about we walk around and I will lead the way."

Haruhi thought of doing that too but...

"Hey... no thanks, today, I'm going to lead the way, and it's getting real late now! It's already sunset!"

Mayumi disappointed that she cannot lead the way still agreed that Haruhi should be the one to lead in order to avoid getting lost and maybe end up on the missing person list.

Mayumi held out her phone and started looking at the map, and Haruhi surprised that even the known idiot could think of something good to avoid getting lost, well, She did think about doing that as well but her phone's battery is out.

"I wouldn't know where to go so you lead the way, Haruhi!"

Mayumi extended her arm lending Haruhi her phone.

She took the phone and they began walking to where the arrow at the map brings them to.

They have arrived at the destination of where they're supposed to be, actually, to where Mayumi wants to be.

"The Bakery?! At this time of day?! Seriously?!"

The third time Haruhi snapped, Mayumi became satisfied that she have counted of as to how many times her best friend Haruhi snapped for the day.

"Since we're here already, how about we enter and eat a bit of cakes,"

Mayumi did say a bit but Haruhi knows Mayumi for a long time already.

That she's definitely sure Mayumi wouldn't end up just eating a 'bit', because even though she looks quite slender, she's actually a huge monster that has infinite amount of appetite, knowing this fact, Haruhi gave in defeat and entered the bakery.

"Just so you know, this'll be the last time were eating out late like this, 'kay?"

Even though Haruhi said that, Mayumi knows for a fact that she wouldn't just let it end this quick, so she just replied in a half-hearted way.

"Okay,"

One simple word...

They then just ate the cakes they ordered.
