Broken

Chapter 3

I didn't reply to Calum's text until the next morning. I didn't want to seem overly keen in replying straight away and my reply was just simple 'How could I forget? :) xx'  I smiled at how simple it was and how unflirty I had tried to make it, he did have a girlfriend after all. I heard a knock at the door so I shrugged my dressing gown on and went to open it.

''Good morning sleeping beauty'' Sarah almost sung as she stepped through the door. I groaned

''I'm getting deja vu here. Why are you here so early? It's a Saturday!'' I said to her whilst flicking the kettle on

''You do realise it's like ten am? Anyways were going out tonight so me and you are going shopping to get ourselves some lush clothes for the night ok? So go get showered and be quick! The sales are on'' she laughed that end bit as she knew I loved a good sale bargain!

I frowned at her ''What if I don't want to go out?'' I asked

''Awwww babe you think you have a choice?'' she cackled at me

I couldn't help but laugh ''Fine but I'm getting majorly pissed!''

''Hell yeah! Now that's the Amy I know! Jake invited Liam too if that's ok? Oh and Cal is coming with his girlfriend Jenny so we can all meet her'' she raised an eyebrow at me ''Cal doesn't seem that taken with her if you ask me''

''Well I didn't ask'' I laughed ''anyways make me a cuppa whilst I shower!'' I called out as I walked to the bathroom.

A few hours later and we were at Sarah's flat showing Jake our bargains of the day.

''Sarah did you really need more clothes?'' he smiled at her

''Of course babe! I must always look my best..... For you of course'' she winked at him.

They were so in love and they both deserved to be. They'd been together 4 years now as they met when they were 18. Jake was the one who introduced me and Ben too. Sarah went to their bedroom to put her things away. Jake was a great guy and Sarah was so lucky to have him.

''How are you holding up?'' Jake asked me as we sat on the sofa and he passed me a cup of tea.

''Thanks Jake. Yeah I'm ok. Getting better every day'' I smiled ''now I realise just how awful we were together. We were never with each other enough and when we were we argued all the time''

''He called me you know. Straight after he ended it but I haven't spoken to him since. He's been my mate for 5 years but to treat you like that was just wrong. And I think if Sarah knew I was still speaking to him, I don't think I'd be able to think about having children for a while if you catch my drift'' he winked at me

I laughed as Sarah came back in ''what's funny?'' she asked

''Nothing babe'' Jake replied smiling at me

''Hmmmmm'' she replied ''Amy are you getting ready here or yours?''

I looked up at her standing by the sofa ''I was thinking mine and then come back here so we all go together?'' I asked

''That sounds perfect as I told Cal and Jenny to come here around 9. Oh and Liam too'' Jake answered looking at me.

''Oh that's sorted then.'' Sarah smiled

''I best be off then to pamper myself for tonight'' I laughed

I hugged Sarah and Jake goodbye and set off on the 10 minute walk back to my flat. Me and Sarah originally lived in my flat but one day she went jogging around the area and met Jake and the rest was history! So we stayed close to each other which was great when one of us was having some sort of crisis and Jake had become a big brother type to me.
