Cal picked me up after work and we started our 4 hour journey to my parent’s house.
“So you sure you want to do this?” I asked laughing
Cal looked across at me “babe were serious now so yeah I need to meet your parents and I also need to apologize to them for leaving their pregnant daughter. I can just imagine how much your dad hates me because of that!”
I cringed “my mum has told him that he needs to behave Cal, all my parents care about is that I’m happy and I am so that’s all that matters ok?” I told him as I squeezed his thigh with my hand
He smiled across at me “were both happy babe”
The journey ended up taking us 5 hours instead as we stopped for a McDonalds on the way! But eventually we pulled up about 9pm. I could see the front door open and there Shane was stood beaming at me. I quickly opened my car door and bounded over to him where he pulled me into a hug.
“Hey lil sis” he whispered in my ear as he hugged me close.
“Hey big bro” I laughed when I pulled away from him. Shane looked up when Cal came over to us.
“Cal” he grunted
I frowned at Shane “be nice please for me?” I begged
“Hi Shane” Cal whispered from beside me
“I’ll try my best Amy, but I can’t promise anything. Technically I still owe him a punch in the face” Shane told him as he crossed his arms and glared at Cal. I could see Cal was squirming under the scrutiny.
“Shane are you going to let your sister in at any point?” I could hear mum calling from inside
“Now coming mum” Shane called as he went inside
I turned to face Cal “you ok?” I asked worried
“I’m fine Amy. I deserve this treatment so ill suck it up for you” he shyly smiled
I quickly gave him a kiss and then I walked him inside into the kitchen where my parents were sat.
“Finally Amy, I wondered if your brother was ever going to let you in” she laughed as she walked over and pulled me into a hug
“Yeah well you know Shane” I told her as I hugged her back
Mum eventually let me go and turned to look at Cal “you must be Cal” she stated
“Oh yeah, mum and dad this is Cal” I told them
“Nice to meet you Cal, we’ve heard a lot about you” my mum smiled warmly “would you like a drink?” she asked
