Well new year’s eve was eventful to say the least! But me and Cal have now been together 2 months and I couldn’t be happier!
It was finally Friday at work and I had hardly seen Sarah at work this week! We finally managed to catch up at lunchtime in the staff room.
“Finally I’ve managed to see you since New Year’s Eve!” Sarah said as she nudged me whilst sitting down next to me.
“Hey watch my tea!” I laughed “I know sorry but you’ve been busy too!” I retaliated
“Pfffft, it’s not a competition to see who’s to blame Amy!” she giggled “but I’m sorry too. We’ve been busy sorting out new things for the house” she beamed
“Is it going well?” I asked before taking a sip of my tea.
She grinned “it’s going really well! Shouldn’t be too long now. Then we can start thinking about having a family”
“That’s great darl. I’m so happy for you!” I grinned
“Are you seeing Cal over the weekend?”
“He should be coming over tonight” I smiled
“So things are going well?” she asked whilst wiggling her eyebrows at me
“Really well. I’ve never been happier to be honest” I beamed
The rest of the day passed by pretty well and I got home about half past four which wasn’t too bad. I was slumped down relaxing on the sofa when my phone rang. I reached across to the coffee table to grab it. Seeing Cal’s name flash on the screen.
“Hello?” I answered whilst turning the TV on
“Hello beautiful how was work?” Cal’s yummy voice spoke
“Meh was ok I guess. Glad it’s the weekend though” I laughed
He chuckled back “me too babe. So shall I bring round a takeaway tonight?”
“Mmmmmm that sounds good to me! How about a Chinese? We haven’t had that for a while! “I laughed
“It’s a date. I’ll be round at seven gorgeous. See you later”
“Bye Cal” I hung up the phone and placed it back on the coffee table. I checked the time on the television and saw that it was half past 5 so I got up and walked through to the bathroom to have a shower before Cal came over.
I was towel drying my hair when I heard a knock at the door. Surely that can’t be Cal I thought to myself. I put the towel down and walked through to the front door.
“Well your earl--- oh” I opened the door expecting to see Cal when really it was Liam stood there all shifty acting nervously.
“Hi Amy” he whispered
“Liam” I replied coldly “what can I do for you?”
“I’d like to talk. We didn’t leave things on a good note and I shouldn’t have said the things I said. Please let me explain?” he asked
I nodded and opened the door to let him pass. I closed the door and followed him through to the lounge where we sat on the sofa with about two feet between us. I turned to face him “start explaining then”
“I’m so sorry. I went far too far with what I was saying. I shouldn’t have said all those things just because I was jealous. I should have just been happy for you and not listen to Ben either. But I was pissed off Amy. I’ve liked you for so long and first you were with that twat Ben and then…. Cal” he risked a look at me.
“I understand Liam but I don’t know what you want me to say. I’ve always told you that I only see you as a friend and I can’t help that, that’s just how I feel. I’m sorry that you like me and that I can’t reciprocate those feelings” I placed my hand on his warm hand
Liam moved closer to me and held my hand “can you honestly tell me that you didn’t feel anything the times that we’ve kissed?” my eyes held his gaze
“Liam were-“but I was cut off by his lips that were suddenly on mine. His warm, moist lips were moving on mine but I wasn’t kissing him back. His arms were round my body but my body had frozen under his touch. This wasn’t right but before I could push him away, Liam was pulled off me and punched in the stomach. Liam was hunched over holding his stomach as I turned round to see cal.
“Care to explain Amy?” Cal was livid. I had never seen his brown eyes look so angry. He looked like he hated me.
“Cal I didn’t do anything” I whispered as Liam’s groans could be heard. I stood up from the sofa and started walking towards Cal but then I stopped as he spoke.
“Sure looked like it! I’m gonna get this twat out of here and then you’re going to explain” Cal instructed.
Cal walked across to Liam and pulled him out the flat before slamming the front door behind him. I could hear Liam’s protests but Cal didn’t listen to him. I heard him sigh before he came back through running a hand through his hair. He stopped and looked straight at me.
“So?” he asked with his arms folded across his body. His eyes so angry and hurt.
“Cal nothing happened. Yeah he kissed me but I didn’t kiss him back! He came round to apologise and he obviously fucked up again!” I told him
“Why the fuck would you even let him in after what he had said about me?!” he shouted
“He’s my friend Cal! I thought I would give him the benefit of the doubt, just like I gave you!” I screamed
“Oh here we go! I wondered when that would be thrown at me! I’ve changed for you Amy but you keep letting Liam get the better of you! Why the fuck do you care how he feels? And why the fuck didn’t you push him off you?!”
“I was just about to! But then you came storming in with your fists!” I bellowed back
“Well I’m sorry for trying to get some horny wanker off my fucking girlfriend!” he was so angry now. And he was really starting to scare me.
“Cal you’re scaring me” I whispered looking away from him
“Fuck this. I come here with food which by the way is in the kitchen and instead I find you kissing some other guy!”
I suddenly felt a tear begin to trickle its way down my cheek “Cal please don’t be like this” I walked forward and reached my hand out to touch his arm but he pulled away from me.
“I’m going” Cal mumbled as he left
“Cal!” I cried as he opened the front door and closed it behind him. I collapsed back onto the sofa which is when the sobs started to shake through my body. I can’t believe he left like that without sorting things out with me. I know it was my fault but I was too stunned by Liam to stop him.
I really hope I haven’t lost Cal.
