Jacob had fucked up. Not only had he been ignoring the stubborn girl Everest calls her girlfriend, but he now also seemed to be acting weirder than usual, causing Bella to worry about her best friend. Currently, Everest was laying on Bella's bed playing with a ball of water she had conjured as Bella wore a hole in the floor and worried at her lip.
"Babe, I'm sure he's fine. Probably just pouting because you decided to date someone who isn't him." Everest tried to calm her girlfriend but Bella just shook her head.
"No something is wrong, I just know it Ev." Bella shakes her head in denial.
Everest opens her mouth to respond but is interrupted by a clink at the window. Immediately Bella becomes frightened and whimpers, "What if it's Victoria?"
Everest stands and pushes Bella behind her and replaces the ball of water that was in her hand into a ball of fire.
She slowly walks up to the window, being careful not to lose her concentration and steeling herself in case it was the insane red-haired vampire. Looking out the window she sighs in relief and dissipates the fireball.
"Speak of the devil and he shall appear. It's just Jacob Bells."
Bella lets out a shaky breath, her entire face lighting up with relief as she runs to the window and throws it open and leans out.
