Chapter 12

Tami's POV

A/N: So in case you don't remember, this chapter will tell you where Tami went after the Provisional Hero Licencing Exam. The chapter starts right after the exams finished, and the people who passed have been announced. So, we're roughly twelve hours in the past, but by the end of the chapter, everything will be caught up.

I find my name up on the board and grab Kirishima's arm. "I passed!"

"Me too!"

We share a quick kiss, then congratulate our other classmates. Many students have pulled out their phones, calling or texting their parents. Kirishima has his phone out, I dig mine out of my pocket, shooting a quick text to my adoptive parents, telling them I passed. Then I open a group chat labeled 'Crazy Fam'.

Dark's voice drifts through my head. "Oh, c'mon. It'll be fun! Besides, they're just your friends, nothing more. That 's what you always say, anyways.

I walk up to Mr. Aizawa, feeling a little nervous. "Hey, some of my family came up from the Shiketsu area for a surprise visit. Do you mind if I go off with them for a few hours?"

"I don't see why not. Just be back by eight pm at the latest," Aizawa replies with a shrug.

I tell Bakusquad where I'm going, then convince Kiri to stay here. I told him if he came along, he'd be mauled by my family, who'd be ecstatic to be meeting my soulmate. It does the trick, and even though it isn't technically a lie, I still feel guilty saying it.

Kiri takes my costume case and I leave before I can chicken out. I take the bus a few stops over, then walk the rest of the way to the café so I won't be stupid early. Inside, tucked in our favorite back corner booth is Toga and Dabi. I walk over to them, grinning.

"Heya Tami! Wanna join the League?" Toga whisprr yells, with a familiar teasingngrin.

"You can tell my dad and Shigaraki I'm still not interested," I reply with a laugh.

"Well, you know they make us ask every time....."

"Yup. Tell them it's getting old, like my dad."

Toga laighs and even Dabi cracks a grin. "So, let's see your license!" Toga says eagerly.

I pull out the small rectangle of plastic. "Now I'm legally obligated to kick your asses the second you try anything funny, alright?" I say laughing. Techically, I sas legally obligated to cal the cops so they could lock these two up, just based on their passed crimes.

"Ooh, impressive! Look at our little hero, all grown up!" Toga says with a fake sniffle.

The waiter comes up to take our order. We come here often enough that he just asks if we want our usual before leaving.
