Sugar

Tiny crystals, sugary sweet,

Pouring out of the package.

Mixed into food, sprinkled on top,

Or straight into your mouth.

These little grains melt in your mouth,

Engaging your taste buds,

Giving you a sudden rush,

Filling you with energy.

The sweet taste lifts your spirits,

Wakes you up.

Feeling excited, hyper.

But soon, it's over,

And sadly you go back to being tired.

Sugar is small but powerful.
