"Hey, can we talk?" Bella spoke as she walked up to Neveah in the school parking lot.
Neveah took a moment to look her over before she replied, "I guess so." She didn't have have any fight left in her. She was done with Bella's drama and just hoped they could both get passed everything.
Bella exhaled heavily, "I'm sorry. I should have been a better friend after everything you had done for me. I was selfish and that wasn't fair to you. You stood by my side when I felt like I didn't have anyone and I should have done the same for you. I should have been here when you needed me but I wasn't and for that, I am so sorry.
You taught me to take care of myself, put myself first before any man and you were right. What he did to me shouldn't have stopped me from living my life or being there for my friends. I know nothing I say is going to make up for not being here but I am hoping that we can try. Do you think we could ever be friends?"
Neveah looked at her shocked. She could not believe the words that were coming out of the brunettes mouth. Bella wasn't the girl she had walked out on and she was glad. Bella was a strong independent woman who was in a toxic relationship with someone that wanted to control her rather than letting her be her own woman.
"It's going to take some effort, a lot of effort because right now, I'm not ready to forgive you but I am glad that you wished up. I care about you, stupid, I have for a long time and all I want is for you to be happy. We're going to take it slow because truth is, I don't trust you, not anymore." Neveah replied. As much as she wanted to stay mad at Bella it was draining and it wasn't fair to her.
Bella nodded her head with a soft smile, "I guess I can do that."
"You can start by helping finish these college applications."

"What are you doing?" Neveah spoke with a laugh as she looked at her brother that was wearing an apron in the kitchen. The siblings had decided they needed to spend more time together so while Eden was on a play date, they would have a whole afternoon together and Neveah had no idea what she was getting herself into but she was looking forward to spending time with her brother, even if the kitchen was probably going to be destroyed.
Micheal beamed, "We are going to bake."
"I can see that but why are you wearing that ridiculous apron." He was wearing a rainbow-coloured apron with a cute little unicorn that said 'a chef deserves love'.
Micheal glared at his little sister, "Do not hate on the apron. Now, we are making chocolate chip cookies and brownies, that sound okay to you?"
Neveah giggled as she put on her plain apron, "Sounds like a plan boss."
The two siblings spent the rest of the afternoon baking and talking. It had been a great relief for them both to get everything out in the open and actually have a conversation about everything that was going on around them. Neveah was grateful that her relationship with her brother was strong and only getting stronger.
"So, do you think you'll forgive her?" Micheal questioned.
Neveah shrugged, "I don't know. She's trying and it feels good to have my best friend back but I haven't forgiven her yet for everything she's put me through. We're going to take it slow, we'll see what happens."
"You're too forgiving, little dove." Micheal replied gently.
"I don't want to feel like this. All this anger, hurt and disappointment, I don't want to keep feeling like that. I want to move on and be happy. I'm about to graduate and I have Jared. I want to focus on the things that make me happy. I deserve to be happy." Neveah explained.
