Chapter 36 - Truth

You and the group follow Jesus into the train tunnel, You and Clem are lacking behind the group.

Jesus: These tunnels were abandoned decades ago. But I've heard you can still get through... here's hoping.

You walk up behind Javi and tugged on his sleeve.

Y/N: Javi, me and Clem need to talk to you.

Javi: About?

He slows his pace and is now walking with you and Clem behind everyone else.

Clementine: We appreciate you keeping quiet about me and Y/N about the New Frontier. 

Y/N: But what we said earlier wasn't exactly truthful. 

Clementine: We weren't prisoner's. We weren't kidnapped or anything. We were... one of them.

She rolls up her sleeve to show him her brand while you pulled down your neck scarf to show him yours.

Y/N: We should've told you, at the junkyard. But we didn't know what you would do, given what they had just done.

Javi: You were with those monsters?!

Clementine: They're not... all... like that. I'm not asking for forgiveness. But you have to understand, we literally had nothing.

Y/N: We didn't think we need them, but...

You decided to not tell him about AJ.

Y/N: They were very... persuasive. 

You three stopped at a door while the rest entered.

Javi: Tell me you're still not one of them.

Y/N: God, no! Believe me.

Clementine: We needed to tell you, because if they really are in Richmond then we can't let them see us. We just can't.

Y/N: When we reach the end of this tunnel, we're leaving.

Conrad: Y'all planing on joining us?

You three walked in the door and are now in another tunnel.

Tripp: Y'all hear that?

Y/N: Sounds like the dead. Great.

Gabe: They're everywhere!

You began killing all the walkers you could. Conrad then starts shooting his shotgun.

Y/N: What the hell are you doing?! You know how loud that thing is?

Tripp: Yeah, Christ almighty, Conrad! Now every walker in the fucking county will be heading this way!

Javi: C'mon, follow me!

You all followed Javi until you reached a train.

Tripp: What the fuck?

Jesus: Nobody ever mention a train in the way...

Conrad: We better find a way around it or we're fucking dinner.

Y/N: Can we go through it? Does it open?

Javi opens the door.

Tripp: Daylight! Thank fucking god! Let's go.

Clementine: We can't let these walkers follow us out. You all go ahead, Javi, Y/N and I will find a way to block the door.

Jesus: Make it quick! We'll be waiting up ahead.

Gabe: I'm staying here!

Javi: Alright, just hold door while I find something.

You began holding the door. Javi then jams a bar through it.

Y/N: That should hold. Now we--

You met with Conrad holding a gun to your head.

Conrad: Not another step.

Javi: Whoa! What the fuck are you doing?

Conrad: I heard you talkin'. You think I'm stupid? Why don't you roll up your sleeve and you pull down your scarf?

Gabe: What? Why?

Conrad: Do it! Or I'm putting a bullet in both of you.

You both reveal your brands to them.

Conrad: I fuckin knew it.

Javi: Conrad. Lower the damn gun!

Conrad: No. You're missing the bigger picture, son. We take them to Richmond, and they give us whatever we want. Medical help for Kate! They're our bargaining chip.

Y/N: They won't bargain with you.

Conrad: Won't know until we try.

He then grabs Gabe and holds a gun to his head and Javi pulls out his gun.

Conrad: Maybe this'll help convince you. Just tell Clem and Y/N this is who it gotta be. Then we can all step into the sunshine!

Javi shoots Conrad.

Y/N: Fuck me... I honestly thought you were gonna turn us in.

Clementine: You two need to go.

Javi: What about you guys?

Clementine: We'll find our way.

Javi and Gabe exited the train and went outside. You walked over to Conrad's body and picked up his again.

Y/N: That was intense. What now?

Clementine: We find a way out and get back on the road I suppose.

You sigh.

Y/N: Better than showing up on New Frontier's doorstep I guess.

She puts a hand on your shoulder.

Clementine: Hey. It'll be okay. You're with me and I'm with you.

She gives you a heart-warming smile. You smile back.

Y/N: Yeah. Yeah, you're right. Any idea on which way we should go?

Clementine: We can't go back, so let's go out the way Javi went, but see if we can find another way up.

Y/N: Alright. Let's go.

You and her left the train and began looking for another way up.
