" Whatever you do just be careful. This is the only shot we have, and we have to be very diligent and careful." Amirah said.
Her fingers worked swiftly, looping the tie before pulling the knot up into place around Xiron's neck. She looked up at him, letting out a sigh before she wiped the imaginary dust off of his shoulders before clutching his shoulders in her hands.
" Whatever happens today Xiron, I need you to stay in character. Do not break character until it is time. You know how reckless and impulsive you can be." Amirah told him, releasing his shoulders, turning around to the mirror to check herself over once more.
" I'm not reckless. And I'm not impulsive." Xiron said as he leaned against the wall, his arms crossed as he watched Amirah. " I'm just passionate about protecting my comrades."
"Yeah, and that passion is gonna get someone killed one day. Just stick to the plan. Ok?" Amirah told him, smoothening down her uniform to make sure everything was in place, that she was crisp and clean.
" I get it, ok. Now, are you ready? It's about time we start heading to the palace. The ball starts at 8:30, we have to be there an hour early." Xiron asked, his voice gruff with annoyance.
Amirah took a deep breath, looking herself over once more. " Yeah I'm ready, let's go."

[ Amirah's Pov ]
My smile was tight on my face as I held the tray full of different wines and champagnes on my arm. I prayed that the grimace that I wanted to let show, didn't appear on my face.
My eyes constantly darted around, scanning the faces of the nobles who passed by me, snatching a champagne flute or wine glass off of my tray without sparing a second glance to me.
I felt my heart begin to race, the anger bubbling inside of me as I bit the inside of my lip to give me a subtle distraction, then I scoffed quietly to myself.
These creatures... they sit here and smile and laugh while us human have to go around, serving them like their Kings and Queens.
"Disgusting." I said to myself.
I took deep breaths, trying to calm myself down as I saw a group of nobles beginning to walk my way. It was a group consisting of three males and a female, decked out in the most expensive furs and jewels. I immediately knew they were upper nobility status.
The came over to me, the males watching me closely while the female sneered at me, turning her nose up at me like the snob I knew she was.
"You. Servant girl. I expect these drinks to be up to par with my standards." One of the males said to me.
