"Annddd...GOALLL!!!"

"You just got lucky."

"Lucky? That was skill, my brother."

"You wish."

I chuckled and threw my controller aside. I've been beating my best friend Ryan at video games all day. It was exhausting. Face it, the guy can't beat me. I've got mad skills.

"Justin?" My mother walked into the room carrying a box of god-knows-what.

"Yeah?" I answered as I shut down my xbox once and for all.

"Go clean your room and while you're at it you can vacuum the house and take out the trash." It wasn't a question, more like a direct order.

I hated when she did that.

I groaned. "Can I do it later? Ryan's here."

"He'll help" was all she said before she slipped into the kitchen and disappeared.

I heard Ryan sigh next to me. "What's her deal? I have enough chores at home."

I began to put away my xbox games. "We're having guests. They're staying for like a week or something. I don't know them but my mother said they've been old friends since before I was born." I neatly wrapped up the system controllers and placed them by the xbox.

Ryan raised an eyebrow. "Do they at least have a daughter?"

I shrugged. "I think my mom mentioned something about that but for all we know she's three or something."

"Let's hope not." Ryan chuckled.

"Well I'm gonna go clean my room, feel free to grab the vacuum and start vacuuming the hallway." I stood up.

Ryan let out a groan. "Do I have too?"

"Yes because I'm exhausted from kicking your butt at video games all day."

He sighed. "For the last time, you just got lucky."

"I don't believe in luck, I believe in fate." I began to walk upstairs, my own words ringing in my ears the entire way.

Lila

I leaned my head flat up against the cold glass and stuck out my tongue. A red-haired lady driving a blue bug drove by and laughed.

I could feel my brother Clay's eyes staring at me with a questioned look.

I turned around and giggled. "Did you see that lady?"

Clay smirkered. "Yeah, we both agree on one thing, you're crazy."

I playfully smacked Clay's arm. "For a 12 year old, you're not much fun."

Clay gasped. "I can have a lot more fun than you can even imagine!"

"Oh really?" I challenged.

"Watch." Clay rolled down his window and stuck out head causing the wind to make his face look all funny. He made a few faces. Some guy driving a truck rolled down his window.

"Hey kid!" He yelled. "Don't you know that what your doing is dangerous?!"

Clay stuck out his tongue at the man and rolled his window back down. "And that's what I get for proving you wrong."

I rolled my eyes. "You didn't prove anything, you just proved that you're capable of getting in trouble by people on the highway as well as people on our neighborhood."

Clay ran his fingers through his brown hair trying to fix it. "Getting in trouble is fun."

My mother turned around in the passanger seat to face us. "Get ready, we're almost there and you can take off your sweaters, Pattie told me it's pretty warm here."

We nodded in response and began to fix the small mess we had back here.

"I wonder if Pattie has a son around my age. I need someone cool hang with these few weeks." Clay said as he stuffed his pillow into his backpack.

I just shrugged. "Who knows."

"Hey mom." Clay called. "Does Pattie have a son?"

My mother turned around again and nodded. "Yeah."

"How old is he?" Clay seemed excited.

"15."

Clay's excitment died down as my eyes lit up.

"15? What's his name?" Now I was the curious one.

"Justin Bieber, you should know who is. He's had plenty of success in his life." My mother turned back around and muttered something to my dad.

Justin Bieber? His name ringed a bell but I just could've remember where I'd heard it before...

"Isn't he like a singer or something?" Clay suddenly asked.

My mother nodded without even bothering to turn around this time. "Yes, you know. And your world is my world, and my fight is your fight, and my breath your breath, when you're hurt...cause girl your my one love, my one life, my one heart for sure. Imma tell you one time, girl i love, girl i love you."

I groaned. "Mom, please don't sing. Ever."

She chuckled. "Is my voice that good?"

I shook my head. "Not even close."
