Kylie's POV

Red had just spent two hours working out. Again. Now she sat on the couch with a book of news clippings I had brought her from her apartment and some more recent news papers. I sat beside her with a nursing book.

"Says here humans are pregnant for nine months. Werewolves are pregnant for six months, but alphas are usually only five. How long would you say you'll be pregnant?" I wondered, flipping the page.

"Hopefully no more than six months. They'll be here by then." She muttered, cutting out another paper article.

I cringed at the thought. "Forget it being a bad idea. Do you really think you'll beable to fight after you give birth?!" I asked for the fifteenth time since she told me about the war we were losing out west.

"Can? I will." She assured. "Etherwise you, me, and this baby are as good as dead." Not knowing how to respond I fell silent. "I need to step outside." She spoke.

Red doesn't like the confinement but we don't have much a choice, I can smell the baby already in her scent. "Okay, hang on it just started snowing too." I grabbed a bottle of strong perfume and sprayed it on her to cover her scent before handing her her coat and a blanket. "Wait for me." I instructed.

Both my wolf and I were unbelieveably protectve of her and the baby even though she's less than a month along. I shifted into my wolf before following her out the door. Red sat on the step and I lay down beside her.

Soon wolves flocked in around us. They crept closer, despratly seeking the comfort of their luna. In minutes they surronded us on the step. I recongised Alec as he approached.

The other wolves parted just enough to let him through. His muzzle nuzzled her hand, and she stroked his fur. Alec made his way in against her other side. We hadn't told him anything and wouldn't but even I knew he needed this time besde her.

It didn't last long before Ryder was in the distance. Red had been petting all the wolves. I helped her up, the wolves whimpering as we returned inside.

Ryder's POV

Damon has foresaken me. The pack link light up and the very thought of seeing her had me running for my life. I watched her leave and felt my heart breaking.

I can't even express the lowness I feel. I knew better than to do it. When my father passed I felt so desprate to have her in my arms that by the time Natalie came around I had no reason left. What could I do?! There was nothing. It was unforgiveable, but there was nothing else I could think about.

My life, and heart were empty and I was alone.

Red's POV

It's been three months and I'm getting farther along. I'd just finished my work out when my phone rang. "Hello?" I threw my hair up in a ponytail waiting for a response. "Hello?" I spoke agian, holding the phone as I looked at myself in the mirror.

"Red." Jay? "Red. It's Carter." My heart stopped, a dark ice taking root. "He's dead. He was killed by a rouges." No. Not Carter too. No. NO. NO!

I fell to my knees, feeling weak. "Red! You okay?" Kylie called from down stairs.

There were no words left. "He fought magnificently Red. Just like you taught him, but we can't take their numbers anymore." My vision blurred.

Kylie ran in and I looked up at her worried face. That was the last thing I remember doing.

It took me two days to snap out of it. I couldn't let them fight anymore. I'd set up accounts connections, every thing I had to make sure they'd live blissfully in the human world, and I told them to go be happy and safe before severing contact. It was my fault they were there.

This was my fight and I'd find a way to win it.

I spent the next two months trainign mybody and mind.

Kylie's POV

She's five months along and it is bluntly obvious. Still she works out everyday in the basement. I try to stop her, tell her it's not good for her and the baby to be under so much stress, but she won't listen.

I pulled my jacket closer around me, It may be early spring but it's still cold, floweres had yet to bud. Reaching the boarded Seth came into view. He stood tall with his lab coat, making him easy to spot amoung the bear trees.

He smiled at me and handed me the books he'd held when I reached him. "You really want to be a pack doctor Kylie?" He wondered and I only nodded.

It was a little white lie. I needed the books and knowledge he had, and not even he could know Red was pregnant. Deep down part of me wanted  to tell him, ask him to deliver her baby so they'd both be safe, but I knew I had to do it for Red. "Well I'm glad. Not many people push for their dreams outside the hierarchy these days. I suppose Red may have influenced you?" His eyebrow rose knowlinigly and teasingly.

"You could say that." The truth was he had no idea. She gave me power I'd never thought I could achive. She made me a beta, and I still wasn't sure how.

"Well I guess Red was busy again today." He sighed, conceling his dissapointment well. "Tell her to come visit me some time." He added with a small waive as he walked off.

I waived back and hurried home to Red.

A/N

So I feel the need to let you all in on what's going on with the book right now.

When I started this book I had a list of characters, and backgrounds, a problem and an ending. It swayed a bit in the middle and looking back I've realised this book needs ALOT of cleaning up. This means I will essentially be starting over as this was the very ROUGH draft. It will most likely have a new title and be in an all new book.

My question for you is would you like me to post the ending in this book?

I intend to leave both books up, as they will be very diffrent, but same characters and same ending. Please let me know how you would like it pressented to you.

Thank you
