Chapter 7: Lost and Found

LUCINDA'S POV

Jeremy took me outside to where the rest of the party was.

I scanned the back yard for Katherine but I couldn't find her. But I did however find a chocolate fountain.

I grabbed Jeremy by his hand and ran to the fountain.

He took a strawberry on a stick off of the table and put it in in the chocolate fountain. He turned to me and brought the strawberry in front of my lips. I opened my mouth and he put the tip of the strawberry in my mouth.

I bit down on it and was engulfed with chocolaty and fruity goodness. I closed my eyes and moaned in delight. I opened my eyes to see Jeremy smiling at me.

"What?" I asked.

"Nothing. You just look really beautiful." He said and turned his head so I would see him blushing, but I did.

"Do you want to dance?" He asked with his hand held in front of me.

"Sure. I'd love to." I replied grabbing his hand.

He walked me to the middle of the dance floor. As soon as we got there, a slow song started to play and I wrapped my arms around his neck as he wrapped his arms around my waist.

I was really short compared to Jeremy, and my shoes did nothing to help me out in that department.

I leaned my head on Jeremy's shoulder and was just in the moment. I didn't care where Katerina was, what she was doing, or why she hadn't tried to make contact. I was with Jeremy and that's all that mattered.

Before I knew it, two songs had already played. I pulled my head back up to look at his face.

"Thank you Jeremy for asking me to come with you to this ball. Although they are quite different than the ones we have down in New Orleans."

He smiled. "Why are you smiling at me like that?" I asked him.

"No reason," He replied "It's just that you look so beautiful tonight and I'm glad that I asked you to come with me."

I blushed and turned my head to the side. Just as I was about to say something, Jeremy said Elena's name and walked off of the dance floor over to her pulling me in tow.

"Elena what are you doing here? You aren't supposed to be here." He rushed out.

"What am I doing here? What are you doing here? You told me that you were on a date."

I guess Elena didn't see me holding Jeremy's hand because when Jeremy pulled me closer to him and said that he was, she looked surprised.

"Wait, your date is- AAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH!" Elena stopped in the middle of her sentence and started screaming. She turned around and leaned against a table behind her

Out of nowhere blood started pooling on her back through her purple sweater.

After the screaming ended, she started panting.

Bonnie ran up to us. "What's wrong? I heard a scre- Oh my God. Elena are you okay?"

Elena looked as though she was going to say yes when she screamed again.

"Bonnie do something to stop it!" Jeremy yelled.

Blood started to pool in her abdomen. While all this was happening, I was just standing there taking deep breaths. I know I drank earlier today, but that is a hell of a lot of blood.

"Katherine." Jeremey whispered as if he just came to a realization.

Jeremy ran back into the house as fast as a human could run.
