I wake to birds chirping, its pleasant. I feel cold, so I slide closer to Kaleb. Panic rushes through me like electricity, when I realize he isn't there, I scan the room for him, but he's not anywhere to be seen. It hits me, like the glass of a rotating door. He's dead!
I slam my head into the purple bedding, making a loud thud that echoes the empty room. I sob viciously into my pillow." Why! Why me, it's always me!" My screech slightly muffled.
"Jinx? May I come in?"
"Who is it?"I respond agitated
"Lila."
I groan,"Not today!"
I slam face back into my pillow and soak it with grief. Why?! Just why?! My thoughts are interrupted by another knock on the door." What?!" I yell showing my agitation.
"Um, it's still Lila. Your needed urgently in the dining room."
"Err! Tell them to go away too!"
"I did, they refused, saying the matter can not wait." Lila patiently responds and I feel her awaiting my answer.
"Fine!" I relent and hear her walking away. I don't care enough to shower nor change, so I rinse my face with a wet towelette, and drag my feet down to the dining area. No shoes, just shorts and Kaleb's T-shirt.
Once in the dining area, i am faced with Kaleb's parents. King Garret, and Queen Synthia. Queen Synthia, looks almost appalled when she sees me, but is soon consumed with understanding and mutual grief . King Garret has a stern face, his expression rarely changes.
I'm in awe of how Queen Synthia, looks, just as I do. She is born royalty, it's not like her at all!
"Don't stare! You do not look any better!" She yells, breaking down in tears. I walk, but it feels as if I'm floating, to her. She gasps from my hug. King Garret, wraps his big arms around us both. Queen Synthia and I continue crying in this huddle that we've created. Grief, it's the most energy draining emotion I've ever experienced.
