I walked back and forth in my room.

 I had to tell Celia.

She was the only one who could understand my plight.

Only I was afraid that she wouldn't agree with the whole love thing.

I still had to get it off my chest though.

So I took a deep breathe and went downstairs.

Celia was on the couch, reading a magazine. She already took Candi to the dance lessons and they were back.

"Um, Celia? Can I tell you something?" I asked, nervously.

"Sure," she said, putting the magazine down.

 "It's about Punk."

 "What about Punk?"

 "Um...you see....we..."

 "You feel uncomfortable around him."

 "No."

 "You want him out."

 "No."

"You don't feel as bonded with him as much?"

"No, it's just that...I like him."

 "Well, of course."

 "No, I love him."

Celia laughed. "Well, of course you love him. Everyone loves him."

 "No, I like...I love him...."

"It's ok to have a crush on him. I mean, he is a little of a cutie and I'm sure there's plenty of fangirls out there."

"No, I like...we love each other more than as step-cousins."

Celia sighed. "Well, at least Punk has someone he could love."

"What do you mean, Celia? I'm afraid that our love is going to bring down this family!"

"It won't. They have to understand that you and Punk love each other and that's it. It just happen."

"Yeah, and you know how Punk took me out during the party? Well, he kissed me and we kissed some more at his house. I don't know what to do."

"What you can do is just tell everyone that you and him love each other. Just do it when he's away on tour. Not now because everyone seems to be so in love with him that they think he can do now wrong."

"Ok, I won't tell until later."

 "Won't tell until what?"

My mom came through the door.

"Mary-Beth, what are you doing here?" Celia asked, panicked.

"I got off of work early," Mom said. She turned to me. "What were you talking about telling about what later on?"

"I don't think you should know," I said.

"I have a right to know. I'm your mother."

"Look, Mary-Beth, it's better off if she tells you later," Celia said.

"Tell me what later?" Mom asked, getting annoyed.

"Something that you'll know later," I said.

"What is it?" Mom asked. "Tell me now, Sernalina. I want to know now."

"Mary-Beth, we're only doing this for the family's own good," Celia said.

Mom's eyes narrowed down. "I want to know now. I have every right to know. I don't care if it's so secretive or whatever, tell me now!"

I got so angry that I burst it out. "I'm in love with Punk, Mom."

 "What?"

 "I'm in love with Punk."

"Well, of course, you're his step-cousin."

"No, I love him more than just a step-cousin."

Mom's eyes flashed in horror. "You're not going to love him that way."

"I have no choice Mom. I love him. I can't control it."

"Yes, you can. And you won't tell the rest of the family. I forbid you to tear this family apart."

"Mary-Beth, it's only for her and Punk's own..."

"Is it going to be any of my good?" Mom snapped. "No, it won't! I'm not letting my daughter see a man who she loves. I'm not letting her tear this family apart!"

Tears formed in my eyes. "I'm tearing the family apart?"

"I'm not letting you tear it apart. You're not seeing Punk again, do you hear me?"

 I shook my head.

 I ran out the door.

 "Ser!" Celia called out.

Only I ignored her. I ran outside and called Punk.

 He answered. "What is it?"

"Are you going to Milawekuee tonight?"

 "Um, yeah."

 "Can you take me there?"

 "I guess."

"I just need to get away right now."
