It had been a month since Carrie and Mike became a couple. They took things slow which was what both of them wanted, but both had not fully experienced. They took the kids to church on Sunday which helped strengthen their relationship even more though the girls had no idea the couple was even a couple at the time.

Kenzie had slept over at Charlotte and Carrie's house for two days since Mike had away games. When Mike stopped by to pick her up when he was back in town, Carrie answered the door all smiles. "You're back!" Carrie exclaimed excitedly.

"Ya, I missed you," Mike said stepping into the house.

"I've missed you too," Carrie smiled. When they thought they were alone, the couple snuck in for a kiss.

"Mom," Charlotte interrupted. The look on her face easily gave away that she was mortified by her mother's actions.

"Oh God," Carrie muttered only so Mike would be able to hear.

"Dad, are you and Carrie a thing?" Kenzie asked. She seemed to be a lot more calm and casual than Charlotte.

Carrie looked at Mike waiting for him to speak for the two. He finally spoke up, "Yes, Carrie is my girlfriend."

"Finally!" Kenzie shrieked.

Carrie could tell that Charlotte was confused. And that's what concerned Carrie immediately. "We wanted to tell you guys when it was the right time," Carrie said.

After a while of discussion, Mike and MacKenzie left the Underwood household to leave the family of two in peace.

Charlotte was getting ready to go back upstairs to her room before Carrie stopped her, "Charlotte."

"Hm," Charlotte mumbled.

"What do you think of me and Mike?" Carrie asked awkwardly. She valued her only child's opinion the most.

"I don't know," she shrugged. "I can tell he's a good guy. But I think you went a while without having a boyfriend that I got used to it. We had so much more fun when it was just you and me. Now, I feel like everything is going to have to be you, me, Mike, and Kenzie. And I like them a lot but sometimes it's nice to have it me only us two."

Carrie gave a sympathetic smile, "It's always going to be you and me, sweetie. We're always going to be the dynamic duo. Nothing is going to change that. And if it does, then I want you to tell me and I'll fix that. Don't worry about us not having enough time together. I'll make sure that doesn't happen."

The mother-daughter duo wrapped each other up in a hug for a few seconds before Carrie pulled away. "How 'bout we have a movie day. You can pick what we watch," Carrie said.

Charlotte giggled, "I like that."
