Lisa's pov

My least favorite class freshman year is B.S.C.S, more commonly known as bull shit called science. I don't honestly know what the acronym actually stands for. I think it's biology and curriculum or something like that. In reality, it's not the class I dislike as much as it is the teacher, Mr. Richard Kemp. He goes by Dick to his colleagues. That in itself should tell you something about the man.

What man named Richard willingly calls himself Dick? The name is fitting, however. He's a real douche and a bit of a perv too. One day I wore a jean skirt to school, not even a really short one mind you, and I was sitting in class at my desk with my legs crossed at the knee taking notes as he lectured, when he whacked my thigh with a chalkboard pointer (think pool cue), hard enough to leave a small red welt. A completely unprovoked attack, I might add. The only other time I've seen him hit another student with that pointer was when he hit Lauren the day she wore a short skirt. Coincidence? You be the judge. I'm just glad Julie is in my class, otherwise no one would believe the stories I tell about this man.

Today I was late to his class again, third time this week and it's only Thursday.

"Lisa, why are you late?" Mr. Kemp asks, before I can slip past him.

"Just couldn't make it on time," I reply, garnering a laugh from Julie as she recognizes the movie quote.

"Do you find her tardiness amusing, Julie?" Mr. Kemp apparently feels the need to address her response.

"No, tardiness is not inherently comical, Mr. Kemp." Julie can't resist responding with sarcasm.

Mr. Kemp just shakes his head and sighs, "Let's get started with today's lesson."

Having this class last period makes it really difficult to stay awake, let alone pay attention during his boring ass lectures. Unfortunately, Mr. Kemp never misses an opportunity to call out students who aren't listening. Today, I just happened to be one of those students.

"Lisa!" he barks, snapping me out of my daydream. "I asked you a question and I'm waiting for your answer."

I have no idea what the question was.

"Do you mind repeating it?" I ask.

"Yes, as a matter of fact, I DO mind repeating the question. You've already wasted enough of my time this class period with your tardiness and inattention."

"Mr. Kemp, if I'm here and you're here, doesn't that make it OUR time?" I retort, while sharing a smirk with Julie.

"Let's move on," Mr. Kemp says, glaring daggers at me.

"Okay then," I mumble, under my breath.

Mr. Kemp proceeds to drone on about photosynthesis and chlorophyll and before I know it, the room has emptied, save for the two of us. Shit, I must have dozed off, not an uncommon occurrence in this class. I check the time on the wall clock, oops, class ended eighteen minutes ago. I quickly gather my things and get up to leave.

"I'll see you tomorrow in detention, Lisa," Mr. Kemp states, without bothering to look up from the papers he's grading.

"Ugghhh," I moan, before exiting into the hallway. The next time I see Julie, I'm gonna kill her for not waking me up.

Shane's pov

I just got off the phone with Lisa's science teacher and I am not happy. Apparently, she's frequently late to class, inattentive during lectures, extremely disrespectful to her teacher and today she even had the gall to fall asleep during his class. That girl is in for a world of hurt when she gets home, which judging by my watch, should be any minute now. As I hear the late bus arrive, I decide I'll give her a few minutes to get settled before confronting her about her misbehavior. If I'm being honest with myself, I could use some time to calm down before dealing with her.
