Chapter Two.

''Hi, what can I get you?'' the boy at the cashier asks me.

''Two coffees, please.''

''Sure thing.''

By the sound of his accent, he's from Texas, where I used to live.

Where my mom lives with my two sisters, and my dad when he's home from work.

I wait for the boy to come back with my coffees. My eyes flicker around the café in curiosity, seeing different people other than the usual.

The boy scans my face with his baby blue eyes and smiles, handing me my coffees. He's kinda cute.

''Here ya go, beautiful,'' he says, still smiling at me. I go to hand him the three dollars the drinks cost, but he shakes his head at me. ''They're on the house.''

I mumble a thank you shyly, and duck away from him, embarrassed, but I start smiling as I open the door and start to step out of Starbucks.

''Hold up! What's your name?'' someone calls after me.

I step back into the cafeteria and blush when I see the boy coming towards me.

''Fatima.'' I tuck a strand of my dark hair behind my ear and look at the ground.

''I'm Jace. It was nice to meet you. Could we maybe meet up some time?'' Jace shoves his hands deep into the pockets of his black jeans.

I grin up at him, in a kind of flirty way. ''Maybe.'' I reply and then waltz out of the shop, smiling. And because I'm not looking, I bash into someone, spilling one of my coffees on that person.

''Oh my god, I'm so sorry!'' I exclaim, staring at the spreading coffee stain on the white t-shirt in disdain.

''It's a good job it's cold.'' the boy says chuckling, with a British accent.

My eyes widen in shock.

Even with a black hat and sunglasses on, I can clearly see through the disguise and see who it is.

''Oh my god.'' my hand flies to my mouth as I gasp, in shock.

It's Ed Sheeran.

''I knew there was going to be someone who saw through my disguise.'' he mutters, mostly to himself.

''I-I'll get your t-shirt d-dry cleaned.'' I stammer, unable to make up a single sentence correctly in my jelly-fied brain.

''No way,'' he waves it off. ''It'll be fine.''

''I'm really so-'' I star again, while he just smiles down at me.

His ginger hair's sticking out in tufts from underneath his hat and I wonder what it'd feel like if I ran my hands through it.

Then I snap out of it, surprised at myself.

I've always dreamed of this day and now I'm just standing and staring up at him.

Great.

Suddenly, I'm aware of him speaking.

''Hey, you're the girl who sings my songs at George and Burnley's, the bar, aren't you?''

He's digging in his pockets for something as he speaks, and I nod, astounded that he knows who I am.

''W-wait. Y-you watch me?''

Ed smiles and pulls out some clean tissues from his pockets. Then he takes my hands, which are covered in coffee and starts wiping them clean.

I start freaking out internally that he's touching me, holding my hands. And I also wonder why the guy gave me lukewarm coffee instead of blazing hot.

''Yeah. You're extremely talented. You'll go far in the music business if you keep at it.''

''Thank you, oh my god.''

Ed bursts out laughing and I seem to relax, hearing it.

''I've gotta go, it was nice meeting you Fatima.'' Ed smiles at me and throws the tissues into the nearest trash can. Then he waves and enters Starbucks.

I frown. How did he know my name?

Oh. I finger the chain around my neck. The necklace with my name on it. Obviously.

I pull out my phone and start walking down the street with only one cup of coffee left.

I take a sip as I dial Autumn's number.

Ed was right. It's cold.
