Sometimes, People Want To Feel Like They Are Loved.

Caroline's Pov:

    After discovering her best friend was pregnant, Caroline felt conflict. She didn't like the fact Bonnie was still seventeen and was now pregnant. What would her father think? Oh who was she kidding, Bonnie's father didn't care. He didn't even show up to his mother-in-law's funeral. She also didn't like the fact that the father was Damon Salvatore, who basically brain raped her. But, it was Bonnie. She knew that Bonnie always had the right answer and if not, she would find the right answer. She just couldn't help but feel that maybe this time, Bonnie didn't know what to do.

    Caroline sat on the edge of her bed in her hotel room, alone. After the baby announcement and the questioning of Luka's intentions, Caroline felt it was necessary for her to step out of the room. Everyone repeatedly asked her what's wrong but she didn't answer them. Mostly because she didn't know what was wrong. So she just sat in her room thinking, what could fill this empty feeling I have? And then she got it. Klaus. Maybe that was the empty feeling. After seeing Bonnie with Damon, she couldn't help but feel...lonely. She has to go visit Klaus.

   She didn't have to repack her stuff because she didn't unpack it from the night before since they were only spend the night. All she had to do was put the one pair of dirty clothes in her bag.

   "Going somewhere." She whipped around once she heard a familiar deep voice.

   "Stefan, what are you doing here?"

   "Well as your 'best friend', I thought you would want to hang out with me. But you just kind of walked out on us." Caroline shrugged.

   "I was feeling tired." Stefan gave her a doubtful look but didn't press on.

   "You know you don't have to pack, we decided to stay one more day." Caroline zippered the bag.

   "I'm going to Miami." Stefan gave her a confused look.

   "Why? The only reason you were going to Miami in the first place was because you were trying to rescue me." She turned her back towards him and continued to put all of her makeup (which she didn't know why she packed) into her bag.

   "I'm going to visit Klaus," she declared. Caroline heard Stefan give a low growl. It was so low that only a vampire could have heard it, so of course Caroline did. "Stefan I need this."

   "But why though?"

   "Because I feel lonely, Stefan. Alright? I feel like I have no one right now." Stefan paused.

   "But you have us." Caroline huffed.

   "Not in that way Stefan!" She bit her bottom lip. "I meant....romantically." Stefan took a step closer to her.

   "Let me get this straight, you are threatening to run away to the big bad wolf because you are sexually frustrated." Caroline scoffed.

   "Im not sexually frustrated. I'm emotionally frustrated." Stefan gave a low chuckle. "It's not funny, Stefan!" He mockingly put his hands up in fake surrender.

   "Okay, did you ever stop to think that maybe you're doing this for the wrong reasons?" Caroline nodded.

   "Of course I did. I told Bonnie I loved him." Stefan frozen and his eyes grew darker.

   "What." Noticing the Stefan's change in mood she began stammering.

    "Well....you know.....I'm mean I think I do." Stefan began to take slow steps to her.

   "Care?"

   "Y-yes Stefan?"

   "I forbid you from going anywhere near Klaus." Caroline folded her arms.

   "Forbid me?" She asked in disbelief. "You can't forbid me from anything." A low growl came from Stefan, but this time it was louder than before.

"I will snap your neck," He started while taking a few more steps to her. "Drag you back to my house and lock you in the cell." He paused once he was only a few centimeters away from her. She could hear his breathing intensify.

"Stefan," she whispered, slightly afraid. "I need this." Stefan's eyes soften as he stared at the fear-strucked blonde girl in front of him.

"Caroline, you are already loved. And not just in the friends and family way, ok? There are a lot of guys who wants to be with somebody as incredible as you."

"Like who Stefan?" Stefan bit his bottom lip and averted his eyes. Caroline knew what he was hinting at. "You're dating Elena."

   "Yeah well Elena is cheating on my with Matt." This time, Caroline avoided eye contact.

   "How did you find out?"

   "Luka told me," he uttered. "He wanted to feel as shitty as possible." Caroline pushed a strand of hair behind her ear.

   "Look, I don't want to be second choice. My whole life everyone has choosen Elena over me. In some ways, I've resented her for that. Even when we were friends." Stefan gave her a small smile and reached out for her hand. She allowed him access and he intertwined their hands.

   "This has nothing to do with Elena. My feelings for you didn't grow because I've realized Elena and I started drifting apart. It grew because each day, the more I got to know you, the more I fell for you. You are bold, you are tough, and somehow you are amazingly gorgeous. You should always be everyone's first choice." Caroline smile grew wider and gave her focus to the floor because all of a sudden she felt nervous. Stefan put he first finger under her chin and lifted her head up until they were locking eyes. He slowly leaned in and captured her lips. He didn't rush it, he took his sweet time to appreciate how sweet she tasted. She was so caught up in the tender kiss that she didn't see Matt coming in the door.

   "Whoooaa didn't mean to see that," he snickered while shutting his eyes. Realizing what he just saw, his facial expression became more serious. "Aren't you still dating Elena, Stefan?" Stefan gave a low chuckle.

   "That didn't stop you from kissing her, did it?" Matt turned red a quickly made his way out of the room, but not before giving Stefan his opinion on the matter.

   "Just make sure you tell her, or break up with her. We both don't want to see her get hurt." Stefan nodded as he watched him exit.

   "Are you really going to tell her?" Caroline questioned, her insecurities becoming more visible. Stefan nodded and placed his hands on her waist.

   "Of course, Care. You're my priority now."

I know I said I probably wasn't going to do Stefan and Caroline, but I totally did it anyways! But don't worry, Klaroline is not over yet. I honestly don't like Elena with any of the Salvatores, unless it's book Elena. She goes with Stefan. But not show Elena. Finally, if you personally ever feel like second choice in any relationship you are in, get out of that relationship. It's not worth feeling like you are not thought about or you're not as important as the other person in the relationship. You matter❤️
