Third Person PoV

John and Ash have been in control of the school for almost two weeks. In this time they've done as much as possible to make Arlo's life fucking miserable. Things have changed a lot and anyone seen helping Arlo would be targeted. No one looked at John for to long, or in the eyes. John himself changed a lot. He went back to his old self from before his 'rehabilitation'. To be honest, it hadn't really worked very well anyways. Ash was the same as always, her trigger happy self. Though she was also happier now that she could attack people whenever she wanted. Her relationship with Remi had grown stronger and they had quickly become close friends. Seraphina's ability hadn't returned yet, but John and Ash have been protecting her, along with Brian, Remi, and the others. It had come to a point where it really didn't matter what your ability level was. If you were on John's shit list you were basically a cripple and -lucky him- Arlo was. Unlike John, Arlo's ability seemed to be loosing strength by the day. John broke through the barrier easier every time. A powerful high tier even broke through it at one point. This was bad news for Arlo. John's hatred for him is the main cause of Arlo falling into depression. Maybe it was his depression that was affecting his ability's strength but that didn't really matter to him. The way John looked at him now, there was nothing but hate behind his eyes. Arlo didn't even want to come to school anymore, just so he wouldn't have to see just how much John hated him now.

Arlo's PoV

Today was it. I can't take this anymore! I needed to talk to John. I needed to explain. Everything would be ok once I talked to him. Isen had made contact and told me about the girl's ability, she could say something and everyone that hears her thinks it's true. If John will listen to me everything should be okay again! I saw Remi standing on her own, perfect. If anyone will help me it'll be her. I walk over and tap her shoulder.

"Hey... Remi?" I start, suddenly getting a tight feeling in my chest.

"Hmm?" she turns around to look at me and scowls, "oh it's you," she muttered and turns to leave.

"W-wait! Remi please!" I said desperately, I hate feeling like this but I really needed her help. She stiffened for a moment before turning around, a sympathetic look on her face. "I need your help, please," I asked and she sighed, pinching the bridge of her nose.

"What do you need me to do?" she asked and I almost smiled.

"I just need you to distract Ash for a little while so I can talk to John alone," I said. She gave me a sad smile and rubbed the back of her neck.

"I'll handle Ash, please fix this mess Arlo. The school is falling apart," she said with a sigh. I felt the tension in my chest release and smiled a little.

"Thanks Rems," I said and she chuckled.

"No problem Arlo." She walked off, hopefully to talk to Ash. I began coming up with a plan. I still had Blyke and Isen on my side, I'm sure I could get Elaine. I'd need her just incase things went horribly wrong. I took a deep breath. It wouldn't go wrong, this was gonna be fine.

I stood in front of Blyke and John's dorm. He had been forced to move in there after the Seraphina accident. I managed to get Blyke to give me a spare key and tell me where John's room was. I let out a soft sigh and opened the door. It was surprisingly clean for Blyke and John, although there was the distinct smell of alcohol. John would be back from his jog soon, if Remi did what I asked he'd be alone. I walked around the dorm and found John's room. It had a punching bag, a laptop, a bed, a small closet, and not much else. There were a couple pile of clothes on the ground which irked me a little. I glanced at the nightstands next to his bed. I was about to go check it out when I heard the front door open. I took a deep breath and peaked around the corner. It was John, and he was alone. Thank you Remi. I couldn't handle Ash right now as well. I took another deep breath and tried to steady myself before walking out and looking at him. He looked up at me from the couch and his eyes widened.
