well, seventeen always seizes to amaze me with their songs.
QUICK STORY: so, i live in the states and the time that the album would be released would be at 3 am. now, my dumbass self thought it was at 4 am and concluded that i wouldn't make it.
i was up all night with my cousin as we were waiting. it was 2:23 am and i told myself that to just go to sleep. so i ended up passing out (sorry cousin!). i woke up to a few messages from her and she said it started at 3...IF I WOULD'VE JUST STAYED UP A BIT MORE, i would've been able to stream the mv as soon as it came out..

okay, so like i always do, i am going to rank the songs. (my cousin also did too)
my ranking (and explanation):
01. shhh - performance unit
to me, this song has a maturity and slowness that i enjoy.
it in a way reminds of nu'est w 'dejavu' like style and feeling wise.
i would love to see a live performance of it...
02. getting closer
now, i live for an edgy seventeen song. this song put me in a
mood and i love it. the choreo itself is beyond perfection and
s.coups verse sends me. i hope to get more of this style from seventeen
in the near future!
03. home
AESTHETIC. the mv is what i imagined, warmth. the lyrics are so beautiful
and the choreo is majestic... there were multiple twists and turns within the song
which i love and you can never tell where it would go.
"you're my home, home, home, home"
04. good to me
i loveeee this vibe. it's a chill vibe and relaxing. the chorus
is something i would not have expected and love it. the vocals were on point
and i love the hint of chill rap. the bridge is my favorite part tbh.
"CAUSE YOU, YOU'RE MY EVERYTHING!"
05. chilli - hip hop unit
the intro confused me, but i mean i liked it. the concept of chilli
is weird but it's the hip hop unit, so. i can listen to this if i was driving
to the beach with my cousin with the windows rolled down.
also "drip, drip my chili sauce" is iconic now.
06. hug - vocal unit
personally i don't like ballads. they aren't my cup of tea
but seventeen is my one and only exception. the song makes
me feel like i'm not alone and it's just one big hug on my heart.
also i cried when i heard jeonghan's soft and gentle voice. it's
just one big gentle song and i love it and feel bad that i ranked it
low. :(

my cousins ranking (with few explanations):
01. shhh - performance unit
i'm guessing this is her favorite because her ultimate bias is
in this unit (jun) lmao.
02. good to me
she felt that this could've been the title track
03. getting closer
she also loves the dark concept and loved the fact that
center jun was shown a bunch
04. home
she felt like this could've been a b-side but nonetheless
she loves this song and adores the meaningful lyrics.
05. hug - vocal unit
she is the type that listens to ballads so i can see why
she likes this song. hug is a beautiful song so it doesn't
surprise me
06. chilli - hip hop unit
i can see why she ranked it low. the song is weird
but chill. i also have mixed emotions with this song
so it's chill song.
