Chapter 5 Part 2

Glimmer (District 5)

I sit down at the grubby table. In front of me is Somo. Somo is a horrible food. Dead ants and fried worms are mixed together. I want to throw up. My mother will not get a tessare. She makes disgusting dishes all the time.

“Ewwwwww!" My sister Kaya says.

“Shut up Kaya." I mumble in between bites.

I feel so sick. Who would eat this?

“Toads?" My mom asks.

Toads is my brother. His real name is Mike but, everybody calls him Toads.

“Busy." I say.

“Probably waiting for breakfast to be over and not eat this foul food." Kaya says.

“Be nice Kaya." I say. “It will not kill you."

“Duh. It might." She says.

I never knew how rude Kaya was.

“I'm going and getting a deer." Kaya says.

She grabbed her how and arrows. She took a few knives and a sword. Kaya could hunt animals with all kinds of weapons. I was nice and could kill nothing.

“Kaya!" My mom says as Kaya runs across the meadow to the woods.

“Bad girl again." Toads says.

He leans against mom's blue vase picture.

“Get off!" She yells. “That is precious!"

The painting is worth the most in our house. To keep it mom pays. Instead of wealth we have a painting and other stuff. I don't complain. It is fine with me.

Kaya comes in.

“Deer for lunch?" She says and puts a deer on the table.

“No. Chicken fries." Mom says.

Chicken fries was the best thing mom made.

“To bad. I'm eating the deer." Kaya says.

“(Shrug) Dont care. May eat the deer or throw up." Toads says.

He leans against the painting so hard.

“MIKE BREWSTER HOCUS! Get off!!!!" My mom yells.

The painting cracks.

“nope." Toads says.

The painting splits. The halves fall to the floor.

“No!!!!" My mom Crys.

I look up at the clock. Reaping time. I pull on a red sweater over my pink and red dress. I run to the square.

“Glimmer Hocus and Pilae Lilo."

I step onto the stage. I'm going into the hunger games. Oh, No.

Kaya and Toads ignore me.

“Please don't doe. Please don't die." My room repeats.

“Okay. Thanks is enough!" Kaya says.

Her and Toads bring mom out.
