Little Book of Horror

You were never aware that it was there lurking in the darkest recesses of your mind but it was always aware of you. It laid low for a while, watching your unusual behaviors and rituals; learning how you think and the way you tick. It took very detailed notes on you for a while until it was ready to strike. That's when the dark began to erode your mind until all that was left was n o t h i n g.

It picked out the few flaws that you skipped over and shoved them in your face, making you think they were your own thoughts but they weren't. It made you double check everything and reevaluate your life. It always stuck close to you so its thoughts could get through and now that you've accepted it, its not letting you go.

It will continue to pick and pick until there is nothing left of you.

Now 'it' doesn't mean to be so cruel but that's just it's job and everyone has to do their job right?

So look at yourself in the mirror.

Can you see it hiding beside your ear, whispering ugly little truths to you?
