Chapter 9

"We don't even talk no more / We've ran out of words to say / Tell me it don't have to change / Won't it ever stay the same" Dru Hill - We're Not Making Love No More

These last two weeks that we've been back I've tried to step my game up. I've taken some of the advice from the wives club. I've cooked everyday even when tired. The house isn't spotless but I have been picking up all the clothes off the floor and putting them in hampers. I haven't quite gotten around to the laundry but I feel like I'm improving. I want to be Rick's queen like how the wives are to their husbands...even if I never see him.

Rick's gone back to his long work schedule. Nothing's changed in that department. I'm lucky if I catch a glimpse of him running out in the morning. He spends his weekends at the skate park or locked in his man cave.

I don't know but I'm trying.

I pushed more skimpy pieces of clothing on the racks. I worked a half day so I could go shopping with Tay and Sparkle before pole class tonight. Rick's birthday is tomorrow and I'm still trying to find the perfect outfit for my pole debut.

"What about this?" I looked over to Sparkle, seeing her hold up a black fishnet teddy with cutouts.

"Where's the crotch?"

She smirked at me. "You don't need that part."

"No." I continued looking though the rack. "I want something sexy but not to sexy." Tay held up a purple lace bikini that had a g-string bottom and two triangles at the top. I shook my head no.

I took the three pieces I had in my hand and went into a dressing room. The first outfit I tried on was a black leather bodysuit. I got a large to fit my behind but it was too baggy at the top. Next was a sexy two-piece nurse's uniform, but I felt like I looked silly. Lastly I tried on a green satin bustier with a black lace trimming and a green thong. I opened the dressing room door shyly and took a step out, looking around.

"Mm mm damn! Can I help you lil' mama?" I turned around slowly and saw a tall young light skinned man licking his lips at me. He had a two-teardrop tattoo's on his face a skull on his neck and Chinese symbols along his arms. His eyes travelled up and down my body appreciatively.

"Um no thanks?" It came out as a question but I did not need his ratchet help. He was moving closer to me so I backed up towards my dressing room. "I'm fine really."

"You sure?" He rubbed his hands together still stalking slowly over towards me.

"I-I--"

"If you don't get your motherfucking yellow ass away from her," the one and only Sparkle warned loudly. "Don't make me get my taser out on you bitch." The man turned around and came face to face with Sparkle's hot pink taser. I covered my mouth to keep my laugh in. Tay was seated on one of the benches with her legs crossed observing the whole exchange.

"Bitch get that shit out my face," the man said. Probably not the best sentence because Sparkle pressed something and I saw the electrodes dart out from the gun. The man jumped back and bumped into me making me fall down on the dirty carpet, in a thong. Ew.

"Sparkle please," I begged. I got up and wiped myself off. This is too much. The man walked around Sparkle with his hands up defensively. She waited until he left the area until she put her taser away. I shook my head. I can't believe this is whom I call my friends. Tay looked calm and serene like always and crazy Sparkle was grinning at me like she didn't just have her taser out.

"Ooh I like this one." Sparkle said checking me out.

"The emerald detailing is picturesque against your mocha flesh," Tay added. I laughed at the both of them.
